Hacking Mesh Inserts

Quick question on something I've been trying to figure out for a while. If you hacked someone's mesh inserts and was in any mode other than Hidden immediately give you away to the muse? Under Covert status, you end up looking like a legit user, which is nice if you're on a network. But usually you'd think the only people allowed to mess around with someone's inserts is either that person, or their muse. Also: wouldn't the only real "account" level on ones mesh inserts be Admin? No real reason to have any lower security accounts, except if you distrust your muse for some strange reason.

In fact, I believe exactly that is the case, though I couldn't find it anywhere in the core rulebook. Perhaps it's in Transhuman. I'm pretty sure I recall reading that somewhere, though.

If stealth mode makes you look like a legitimate account, could you make it look like the owner was doing things?

If you want to make it look like the owner was doing things to the owner's own examination, make your changes during memory gaps simulated after the owner's been drinking. Hazy memory, a muse that swears up and down that you did this thing yourself...I bet most would buy it.

I am no comp sci type but what about the ubiquitous AI in every device slaved to your VPN/Mesh inserts? Every gun or smart clothing is part of that.
