I am planning to run "Ego Hunter" as my first Eclipse Phase scenario on a convention in the foreseeable future and I will make use of the excellent prep notes of Justin Alexander. Has anyone run it and would care to share his / her experience? I have watched an actual play of the original scenario (https://youtu.be/r0Zbogz5YcM) but was a bit underwhelmed by the performance of the players and the GM.
Mainly I am trying to get a feeling for Anyang but couldn´t find anything in the Corebook or Sunward. The only thing I know is from the scenario introduction which states that Anyang is not much different from a Terran city but with a dome and that it has research parks focused on genetics. What about public and individual transportation? There will be flying cars, because it´s part of the scenario (although I find the whole idea pretty ridiculous, I mean how high is the dome, will there be an infrastructure like parking spots/doors to the building etc on different levels?), are there flying taxis (with actual taxi drivers or fully automated?), is public transportation free, are there maglev trains or metros above/under ground, buses, conveyor belts, covered walkways, bikes/kickboards/segways for rent etc?
What about bars or restaurants? How will they accommodate synthmorphs for whom beside the social aspect there is no reason to go there?
Maybe I am over-complicating things but I would like to describe a believable setting to make the whole experience immersive for my players.
Thanks for the suggestions!

Seeking advice for "Ego Hunter" / Anyang

Well uhm ok. Let´s try again:
Hello eclipse phase forum! I am a veteran GM but new to eclipse phase and I would like to run a scenario on a convention in order to spread the love for this interesting setting. Can you please help me out?
What I do know: The city in question is called Anyang, situated in the Hellas Planitia and founded by Chinese settlers. It is a hub for smaller settlements in the area. People from the area would go there for culture and recreation. The main business seems to be terraforming and genetics.
My question is: What is the infrastructure concerning transportation of a medium sized city on Mars like Anyang?
Thanks again for your help!

Sorry nobody's gotten back to
Sorry nobody's gotten back to you yet.
Anyang isn't explicitly mentioned in the core EP rulebook or in Sunward, so there's not any additional information explicitly about it in the books. However, we do know some things about similar cities.
Maglev trains run most of the long-distance transport. There are "urban highways", but probably not in a dome of 30,000. Valles-New Shanghai is a dome with internal highways and a maglev train, but it has 37,000,000 inhabitants, so it's orders of magnitude larger. 30,000 in a dome habitat probably means that you're looking at inhabited areas of only a few city blocks in size, since a lot of the stuff under/around the dome is infrastructure run by AI with transhuman oversight. Noctis-Quianjo is 13,000,000 strong, and we know for a fact that they have taxis, complete with ground cars, flyers, and a metro train system. There are also bikes, unicycles (for the brave), and parkour (for the braver) as more short-distance forms of transportation.
So for a 30,000 strong dome, I'd expect to see a lot of just traveling on foot. There's probably not enough size to really justify a metro. Since domes have a lot of vertical space and not a whole lot of horizontal space, you'll see people taking elevators (there's not really enough room in a dome that size for flyers) in large buildings, which will be fairly common, though limited by the height of the dome.
Keep in mind that depending on how people live, the infomorph/synthmorph population, and population density. Even if we say that population density is 1000 people per square kilometer, which would be a miraculously expansive amount of living space, you'd only have a 30-50 square kilometer area for the whole city, and efficient planning could mean that people only have two to five kilometers to travel each day.

Perfect timing!
How serendipitous is that? I'm also fixing to introduce Eclipse Phase to our community by running Ego Hunter at our upcoming local game convention. I've just skimmed the scenario - so far I like what I see. Like you, I've come here to see what others have had to say about running the adventure.
About public transport: I live in a town of 40K and I lived in it when it was still a town of 30K. Even back then, the town supported a basic public transit system and a few cab companies. So if your vision calls for it, go nuts.

I currently live in a town of around 50,000, and the bike is king. Likewise in most dense European cities, which a dome city would take after (to say nothing of the Arabian feel EP's Mars has with the souks, so small and agile is the name of the game). You'd probably have a few mass movers around the perimeter of the dome and, if it's a well-planned one meant to expand, a subterranean freight/people mover system if the place is big enough. Hell, if you wanted something memorable, have a gondola system suspended from the dome itself, with a central hub. Especially in a buried crater dome, this might be one of the only places you can get a view outside and/or the main point of ingress/egress.

Possible Spoilers ahead
First of all: Thank you all for the input! There are a couple of ideas I will definitely use: Imagining that the layout of city is indeed rather vertical than horizontal flying cars and elevators would make sense. I also like the idea of having some kind of gondola system around the central hub. The scenario states that there are actually 300.000 people living in Anyang so there has to be some kind of public transportation even if most people live in few tall buildings.
Bikes: I live in Amsterdam (700.000) and the bike is indeed king. I would imagine for moving in between buildings that would be a popular choice for Anyang as well. (In the corebook someone says it is especially popular among anarchist on Mars)
The scenario: I think it is really well suited for conventions because of the Roleplaying challenge for the players to impersonate beta forks of the same character. I am really looking forward to see how the players will manage this.
Unfortunately, I won´t be connected to "the mesh" for a couple of days (I know: crazy talk) so I won´t be able to react, but if you have anything to add, please do so!

Typo?
I have a quick question about Ego Hunter:
B3 (a splicer) apparently has a cyberbrain. Is that a typo? Or are there biomorphs with cyberbrains? And if it were possible: What would be the reason to have one?
Thanks in advance!

Cyberbrains are marginally
Cyberbrains are marginally more cost effective for picking up mnemonic augmentation, access jacks, and a puppet sock. While there aren't any rules for cyberbrain biomorphs in the book, only cyberbrain pods, I'd imagine that it's possible to achieve a slight (10%?) cost reduction by using a cyberbrain. Alternatively, debilitating injuries to the brain could mean that it's as simple to scoop out the remains and plunk in some hardware as it is to repair the mangled tissue.

Makes sense
Maybe the morph was brain damaged and a cyberbrain was the cheaper / faster alternative to growing a new meat brain. Thanks!

There was a thread about the
There was a thread about the cost benefit analysis of Cyberbrains versus meatbrains, since biomorphs can have cyberbrains and synthmorphs can have meatbrains.
Adv. to Cyberbrain in Splicer: resleeving time is 3 seconds instead of 1 hour, plus the aforementioned implants: mnemonic augmentation (needed for XP production!), puppet sock (still not 100% on why that is a good thing), and access jacks (use an Ecto for hacking rather than risk Basic Mesh Inserts! cf. Ghost in the Shell's combat hacking).
Downside: vulnerable to being hacked and ravaged by Scorchers, plus integration and alienation penalties maybe?

Ego Success!
Play tested 2/3 of Ego Hunter in 4 hrs with good buds at home and ran 3/3 of Ego Hunter in 6 hrs at convention. A few had only heard of Eclipse Phase and no one had ever played it before, including myself. But I do believe both the playtest and the convention were enjoyable and successful introductions to the setting.
I very much appreciate how ideal the scenario is as an intro scenario. As sub-par forks with nothing but 500 cr to start with, new players and GM alike don't have to worry about mastering all the gear and focus mostly on the setting. I was curious to see how differing from the others by only a morph would play out. It played out amusingly well. Players caught on right away with the concept of being a fork, the legalities of being well beyond their 4-hr time limit, the concept of "the Clanking Masses" which caused B2 no end of fun. The players brought to life so many facets I had not considered. I enjoyed running both the playtest and the scenario at the convention. Great times!

Almost there / stay on target
Good to hear! I am running this on sunday, hopefully it will be as successful as your experience.
I thought long and hard about the layout of the city and came up with a more vertical structure that has three layers, with a rather dark ground floor only illuminated by cheap neon signs, an upper floor where the rich and famous enjoy their lush lifestyle and a middle floor for everything else.
