Basilisk Hacks & Ego Artifacts

A basilisk hack can transmit the exsurgent virus. Could a sufficiently intelligent ASI include fragments of its own intelligence/ego, like DNA, in a basilisk hack? Causing victims to be subsumed by its mind, at least in order to get in contact with other parts in order to metamorphose into its true form, cf. Wintermute/Neuromancer. Skillsoft can include ego artifacts (which is fascinating), so I was teasing out some ideas for future scenarios. Thoughts?

I mean, theoretically,

I mean, theoretically, probably. You could shave off digital imprints and basically force traits like Memory Artifact or something, but they'd be very limited. Scaling down to the transhuman scale is already a lot of pruning for an ASI, further paring that down to insert specific information or skills in ways that don't exceed the basic run capacity of the transhuman mind would be even more limiting. From just a fluff perspective though, it's interesting, given to say how Basilisk Hacks work.

Loose idea of "narcoalgorithm

Loose idea of "narcoalgorithm has a basilisk hack" becomes "NA has BA which creates tiny but autonomous fragments of ASI ego which seeks to surface via merging all the fragments" idea. Primarily as one of the numerous interpretations of that loose Sunward hook about cyberbrain thieves.

You could definitely do some fucking around with the subconcious. Minds/Brains aren't well understood, and normal merging of forks can be said to be unusual or unpleasant. Imagine using BS technology to effectively force an Ascendant merge with a fragment of another Ego?

Wouldn't it also be possible

Wouldn't it also be possible for a basilisk hack to compel the infected to expose themselves to other modifying agents? The basilisk hack wouldn't need to "contain" a huge pile of data itself, but it could contain pointers, like the AoK hack in Glory.
