Eclipse Phase fans,
Please don't upload Eclipse Phase books to the website Scribd.com.
Our Creative Commons license (BY-NC-SA) for Eclipse Phase books allows you to freely share our files with your friends, gaming group, or anyone else, provided that our credit is maintained, you do not sell them, and that any modifications you make are licensed in the same way.
Unfortunately, over the years Scribd evolved from a file-sharing site to a subscription/paid download site: it used years of material that was uploaded to fuel those subscriptions and paid downloads, and Scrib simply doesn't own the rights to all of the material hosted there, including Eclipse Phase books, and books by many other creators. They have licenses with some publishers/creators, but not with us.
If someone pays Scribd to download Eclipse Phase material, we at Posthuman Studios don't see any of that revenue. And the person who has paid for it doesn't get updates from us, no chance of them getting the special offers that we sometimes send to customers, etc.
If you have Eclipse Phase material in your Scribd account, please delete it or set it to a "private" document.
And if you happen to be someone who paid Scribd to access any of our books, please get in touch with us at info@posthumanstudios.com -- we'd love to hear from you.
Best,
Rob, Brian, Jack, and Adam

IP query?
Hi Adam,
I tried to upload a bug fix for the android App TRS. (Transhuman Resleeving Service)
It was rejected by Google for IP violations, but they dont state what was in violation - just to "fix it".
Ive looked at the Creative Commons license etc and discovered that the exact text as of today states all TEXT is creative commons and all artwork is copyright. I had assumed that the artwork was under the same CC license since they are both copyright by PH...
Can you please verify if the TEXT is the only portion that can be shared?
Am I allowed to use the TEXT in the android app? Is the one single partial/very small image (currently on playstore) the one that violates IP?
Can you please advise if using the artwork is in violation of IP?
Thanks in advance.

Jason -- except for a couple pieces in the first/second printing of the core book (which we've since replaced, and those ones are specifically listed on eclipsephase.com/cclicense ), all the EP artwork is CC BY-NC-SA licensed as well. We _have_ to own the copyright on something in order to license it Creative Commons, for what it's worth. Someone without an understanding of how the license works may see a copyright declaration and think that supercedes the license.
We have not spoken to Google at all about this, and they certainly haven't spoken to us.
I don't know how their approval/mediation process works, but we will help as we can in it.
I don't have an android device so I can't immediately test the new version, but I've seen a previous version in use and I sure didn't see anything in it that would violate our CC license.
Can you throw me an email to adam at posthumanstudios.com with the current version of the app, the one you're trying to get approved?

ironically
Thanks for that.
After removing the ONLY image with an actual picture on it (as opposed to a gra[phical version of text), the app was approved. Version 1.02.
it is now available.
I dont know why google would not approve this version but allow the previous 2 versions through, but they have...
