Question on sex and striking looks
Ok, we know that the Striking Looks morph trait gives a bonus when interacting with people that can be attracted to you. But, if you have the change-sex implant, would that make it possible for you to change sex on the fly and, thus, be able to obtain the bonus from basically everyone? I don't think so, but can find no real reason why it shouldn't be possible. The only thing I can think of would be that the change sex implant only changes the reproductive organs, not much more, so it wouldn't change who is attracted to you. Problem comes when you have different implants to alter your body even further (like changing your face). Ideas? Comments?

You might want to read up on the implant again. The sex switch implant requires an entire week to finish switching your sex. It's not something you can do on the fly. While the combination of this trait and implant is powerful, it's not nearly as godly as you apparently think it is.

Also, you'd probably go from beautiful woman to bishie man, so it's not like you'd go from a willowy model to a musclebound weightlifter.

That can be fixed with the skinflex nanoware.

I doubt it. It's not like they can conjure mass from nowhere. ;)

Mass isn't volume. But volume is appearance (according to some hair commercials). The nano-ware transformed skinny model now as a musclebound weightlifter would surely be inflated & a less dense one :).

Re: Question on sex and striking looks
I guess one could go for a suitably androgynous look to trigger attraction from many viewers, although it looks tricky to get close to *everybody's* preferences. My guess is that you will at any time, using any appearance, only attract at most 50% of the viewers. But which 50% may shift over time. As noted in tvtropes Even The Guys Want Him, a lot of the appeal is not about appearance but behaviour. So if you want everybody to like you, I guess the real trick is to amp up social skills, rep, mirror neurons and kinesic responses.

Also, some people have to remember that sexual attraction isn't the only form of attraction that exists. If someone who is of the same sex idolizes you, or considers you a hero, then they too are attracted to you. There are many subtle forms of attraction and love that are lost in modern culture.

Or at least not commonly understood. Just look at how people try to interpret every same-sex pair in fiction as being a case of love, when there are so many more possibilities - friendship, loyalty, the master-servant bond, ideological or intellectual brotherhood, habit, protectiveness... and of course all their combinations. Intellectual attraction is interesting. I have encountered situations where someone is so darn *interesting* (or their ideas, or their presentation of their ideas) that one cannot avoid hanging out with them. Imagine the effect of a COG 30 character presenting his ideas about life, the universe, everything, and how it all hangs together to a character with a suitable motivation like curiosity or exploration. Not a trace of sexual interest, but a deep desire to be around to hear those scintillating ideas or to trigger new ones by the sharpest possible questions. (how I wish that we academic types were all like that, but on the other hand, given how exhausting this kind of situation actually is, it might be good that it will be rare until we can all sleeve in Mentons)

Well, it wouldn't only be a matter of COG 30, but also of the appropriate SAV or Persuasion skills. If not, you end up being one of those teachers that all students know that they know it all... but are terribly boring, or fail at transmitting that knowledge or whatever. But yes, I guess you all got a point indeed.

For some strange reason ;), I think this is a more common encounter for the role-player gaming groups. Situations where someone is monopolizing the GM or the GM favoring *interesting* players are sure to spark envy & wallflowers.
