Little Alternia (A completely ridiculous scum barge)
Okay, so, one thing that must exist in EP is troll morphs. If Homestuck exists, you know at least one fan has had one made. That is, if What Pumpkin doesn't sell an entire line of troll morphs. So I had an idea for a scum barge inhabited by Homestuck LARPers, who all sleeve troll morphs of various castes and attempt to recreate Alternian society. What do you think?

HEY GP.
STOP PLAYING GAMES FOR GIRLS. Seriously though, this idea could happen, possibly… maybe… the main obstacle is that this is happening in the distant future, and Homestuck is kind of happening right NOW. Homestuck, more than most other media, is integrated into the current cultural zeitgeist, a fairy tale built around the early 21st century's political and cultural climate. To people living a century or more later, Homestuck would be a fascinating cultural artifact, but AF transhumans may simply not connect to it the same way that we do when we are living in the middle of it. Also, saying that someone was "selling" designer morphs to these fLARPers is about as un-Scummy as you can get. In fact, a society like EITHER of the troll societies we've been shown (…spoiler?) would not last long on a scum barge. No society exists in a vacuum, not even the ones floating around in the vacuum of space, and a scum barge is not an all-absorbing empire run by an immortal valley girl. If Alternian troll barges exist, I'd see them quickly becoming the Emperess-free promised land the troll protagonists in Homestuck were promised, if slightly stinkier and more cramped. I ain't going to shoot this idea down, because Scum fleets are an anything goes zone (and I wanted to see a Dwarf Fortress barge sometime), but you got to imagine how it fits into a larger society.

I keep thinking a beehive habitat coupled with a low-output reaction engine that trails behind one of the larger scum swarms on the inner side of the Belt. The troll morphs would be fairly easy to construct: Lots of appropriate cosmetic modifications, low light vision, perhaps thermal or t-ray implants. Appropriate bio- or cyber- modifications to taste. Perhaps psychosurgery to account for some of the more unique psychological deviations. As for recreating the Alternian social structure, it seems like the Ultimates' philosophical system might be a good place to start, though without some form of enforcement (perhaps cribbing from the Freeman morphs) I think it might break down fairly rapidly. The top-down authoritarian social structure would certainly not be welcome on the @-list, and it would be far too weird to work with any of the inner system social networks. And bees. Lots of bees. Perhaps a couple of swarmanoids with cosmetic alterations.
