Mimas and the March of Science versus EP canon
I recently read an article about Mimas, the Saturnine satellite, and it said that it wobbled ("librates") in a way that might indicate a global ocean (like Europa or Ceres?). Nothing conclusive yet it sounds like but it reminded me about the March of science and progress, and if it turns out that Mimas is indeed like that, will the canon need to adapt to accommodate this? Just a thought I suppose.

What I like about news like
What I like about news like this how the"dead, uninteresting, lump of rock and ice " stereotype has been proven incorrect time and time again. As for how this effects EP canon? Generally not much. Even with a liquid interior, the surface of Mimas is ancient. This provides plenty of soild terrain for Harmonious Anarchy to build on. Really most of the Solar system is stable enough for the setting as presented to be okay for a while...barring an asteroid strike on Phobos or something :). Ask me next year after Dawn and New Horizons and things may well be different! Technology is traditionally the biggest problem for Science Marches On . I have a few games from the mid 90's that are pretty dated because stuff like cell phones weren't on anyone's map at the time!
Current Status: Highly Distracted building Gatecrashing systems in Universe Sandbox!

There is a precedent for RPG
There is a precedent for RPG sourcebooks being updated to suit advancing real world technology. The various GURPS tech supplements come to mind.

Datajacks are still a thing in SR4. I just preferred to put my whole commlink in my head and have done with it, though.

My EP characters are paranoid enough to get Access Jacks, and run fiberoptics from them to an Ecto Mesh Device as an added precaution, with a KAOS AI running on the Ecto as additional InfoSec defense. Wi-fi cancelling paints and such mean that SR4 isn't ruined by a lack of Decks and old school Deckers. Being a hacker still involves the same stuff, it just looks slightly different, and they can run in the middle of the game with AR based hacking and such, no more of the "time for the Decker to run the Matrix, everyone go get drinks and smokes since this will take awhile" problem.
