It's happened. Someone mentioned this thing that I've been doing on the Eclipse Phase forums. I don't know whether to die of glee at being semi-recognized or shame that I still feel like I haven't quite done things justice. I'm incredibly glad you've enjoyed it, and would love to hear any criticism from an Eclipse Phase point of view.

For what it is worth, I think you touch on all of the high points of the EP setting very nicely. I recommended your fic at a party a few nights ago as a good introduction to the setting. F-rep++

As many times as my SO and I have joked about crossing two of our favorite things—Eclipse Phase and MLP—neither of us ever dared to actually do it. Knowing that someone has puts a smile on my face. Looks like I won't be getting any work done today! I got readin' to do!

I very much hope not to disappoint. Dreamcatcher has been in the works for more than a year now, and I've learned a huge amount in the process of writing it. I try really hard to strike a balance of tone between the two settings. Really, the scene between AJ and Pinkie in chapter 02 came to me in a flash of inspiration and the rest just sort of unfolded from there.

Having read...

...all the currently-available chapters, I enjoyed it greatly (it certainly made the day go by!). I think you've done rather well capturing the spirit of both of the worlds you've so lovingly smashed together. I'm rather eager to see how things develop in successive chapters. Not to mention see what passes for "exsurgent" in this little mash-up. Now if only I could get my girlfriend to stop talking about pony-fying our own characters... *sigh*

The MLP character in my campaign used GreyBrother's Equus morph for that. He also makes Nine Lives downright horrifying in what the syndicate is capable of when sufficiently motivated.

For slashfic to exist I think we would need prominent NPCs for people to write into OTPs. I think its a strength of the setting that 1) There are no such NPCs that exist to outshine players, everything will be GM-decided. 2) That we don't have to imagine Proxies meeting somewhere for a clandestine romance, because the setting is also insistent that people enjoy whatever relationships they want, and nobody gives a fuck. :D Though now I have an inspiration for a mission where two Proxies in a relationship mistakenly set their teams on each other, Mr and Mrs Smith-style.
