[Questions] Hosting files online
I'm looking into the possibility of uploading and sharing a file using a file hosting service. However, I don't know much about them. Are there things I should be worried about? Security, privacy, copyright? For instance, I'm aware and concerned about how Google gets the right to copy and modify your data for purposes of advertisement if you upload a file to their service. I'm not sure if I'm being overly concerned here, or being worried over nothing. Also, if you need to explain this to me in simple terms, I'm fine with that.

MEGA.co.nz?
It certainly doesn't hurt to be concerned, and the more you know the better. I've asked my associates, and will be back when I have more solid information, but what's the nature of the upload? Any site you're looking at now, in particular? Any specific questions that could be answered?

i use filefront a lot and
i use filefront a lot and they do keep an eye out over copyright problems. however they do not really investigate all files just ones that exceed a certain file size. As a rule of thumb never put anything unencrypted into free offline or cloud storage services

Well, I'm not looking for
Well, I'm not looking for anything fancy at this time. Some people on this forums site (and on other sites) do write up their own content and tools and then make them available to the community. For instance, an excel sheet for stating up a character. I've been working on a spread sheet that is able to use the morph creation rules (from Transhuman) to stat up a morph, and I've been thinking I should also make it available (someone even asked for one recently). Once I finish my own fanmade revision of those rules, I might want to do the same for that as well. Unfortunately, I don't know much about file hosting, hence my questions. I've been learning that companies like Google do track user activity, and have questionable EULA s. That a person's internet activity might be worth $500 a piece. I'm trying to learn about this stuff and figure out which services are worth using and supporting, and those that are not.

I return with news.
Yeah, the unanimous vote (from a bunch of guys and gals who use this stuff far more than I ever have occasion to) goes to mega.co.nz. I have downloaded from there, though, so I can say that the stop/start/pause/resume functions work well, and I've never had a problem with it. Since the infos are only decrypted by the end-user, it's a better choice than those that want to be able to snoop. I imagine it would probably be used for nefarious purposes as well, illegal content transfers, but personally I've not run into any problems. Best of luck on the content creating. ^^

If you want a no-nonsense
If you want a no-nonsense solution, i can recommend DropBox. It takes a folder on your computer and syncs that with a server. I have no info on the privacy things, sadly.
