Using Neurachem lv. 2 at lv. 1
So, after rereading the description of the neurachem bioware mod, I see that it has to be manually activated (I'd assumed it was always on, being a bioware implant and all). Since the user has that sort of control over their system, is it possible for someone implanted with lv. 2 neurachem to use it at lv. 1, only gaining +1 speed but not crashing afterward? I'd be inclined to say yes, picturing lv. 2 as some sort of emergency overdrive mode, but there's nothing in the rules to support it. While I'm at it, how long does the boost last?
Come baguette some!

Well I would rule that under normal circumstances that a character with level two can turn it down to level one. However I could see crappy versions being available for sale for cash strapped players to buy. As to how long it lasts, I'd say one encounter or scene or whatever.

Each level of the Neurachem works so differently that I believe that they are completely different enhancements, I would make a player buy each separately if he wanted use both effects. Probably because the effects remind me alot of the two types of reflex boosts in the old cyberpunk rpg.

If they were completely different enhancements then they would have different names and be incompatible with one another instead they are labeled at level one and level two. So in my mind one builds on the other and thats why a Level 2 should be able to be used like a level 1 nuralchem. What I wonder is should a Fury morph get a discount when upgrading to Level 2 and should be by one cost level (ie drop from expensive to high cost) or by the value of Level 1 (so it costs on average 15,000 credits to get level 2 if you already have level 1)

That's not true. They can simply be chemicals of different potency. Level 2 neurachem is a stronger chemical than Level 1 neurachem, and therefore something that causes higher response speeds and can only be used for a limited time before causing problems. Level 1 neurachem is a chemical of lower potency and therefore something that can be pumped into the body constantly with no ill effects. If one simply built on the other like with leveled traits, then Level 2 would give you extra speed with no ill effects (much like how with other things that have levels, the next level is generally the same as the previous with stacking bonuses). They aren't given different names because they are both types of neurachem (neural-chemicals).
