What the heck is a "chrome advocate"?
So I was just avoiding work by flipping through Rimward (you can flip through PDFs, right?), and on page 161, I read the following about the terrorists/freedom fighters in Blue Rose: "Several members of Blue Rose are also prominent chrome advocates, a fact that unsettles some supporters (and other members)." What? My limited brain has come up with three ways to read this passage: 1: Someone's auto-correct went all "ERROR ERROR" when the author typed in "CRAM", which refers to another terrorist/freedom fighter group. 2: They are fans of the Lunar synthmorph band Chrome Freedom. 3: For some reason, they really like Google's web browser.

Based off the context you
Based off the context you provided, I would venture a guess that they are advocates for the use of synthmorphs and possibly the rights or superiority of them over biomorphs.

When I read that, my mind
When I read that, my mind snapped to Shadowrun: Clearly these guys are big fans of mechanical transhuman augmentation.

I like to think that, post
I like to think that, post-fall, fanboy wars have somehow gotten worse.

Before the fall, fanboy wars didn't include kiloton yields. After the fall? Well, there is a simulspace habitat named Qo'nos that it's explicitly basically a living star trek MMORPG... Where's the one called Coruscant? I think the answer is disturbingly self-evident.

I do not think i will laugh any harder today than i did at that but ya I think they are more along the lines of mechanical augmentation and cybernetics rather than bioware. I can picture them as the biker gang type that is always polishing and obsessing over how much chrome they have on their bike

It could be the Eclipse Phase
It could be the Eclipse Phase equivalent of NERPs, the ever-so-popular product in Shadowrun which is never properly described.

A chrome advocate
A Chrome Advocate is something beyond say the Steel Liberators. Where the Steel Liberators fight against the oppression of the clanking masses and have taken to synthmorphs as a way of "Taking them back." The Chrome Advocates spend a lot of time scheming to find ways to get everyone into Synthmorphs via bullying, harassment, lobbying or plague.

NERPS was: Net Enhancements
NERPS was: Net Enhancements for Roleplaying Shadowrun It was a kind of fan supliment back in the days of webrings and measuring upload speed in baud. The Fredonian Air and Space Admnisistration supported the fanbase by actually advertising NERPS in the art of the print books. Oh gods I am old.

Mea Culpa: My mode of speech can make others feel uninvited to argue or participate. This is the EXACT opposite of what I intend when I post.

OTP, before the Net
OTP, before the Net Enhancements existed. The books referred to NERPS. It originally meant: Nothing Ever Really Pleases Steve (Kenson) It was a FASA in joke. See you're not that Old, I remember Pre Internet Shadowrun Stuff. (Acronym P.I.S.S.)
