Expanse TV Series bought by SyFy
Here is the link. I have been a big fan of the Expanse series and D. Abraham in particular, he is one of my favourite genre fiction writers. Ciabola Burns, the fourth book, is coming out this summer and I'm psyched. It is relatively hard sf (more so than EP) and the budget would be pretty large, considering zero-g features prominently in the series. However, I am worried about SyFy's less than reliable track record for shows.

In complete agreement on both points. On the one hand, also a fan of the series, so thus really looking forward to it. On the other hand... SyFy... eep. I'm still remembering what they did to the Dresden Files.

Lately, it seems that Syfy is trying to correct its course. More genre series of good quality, less silly reality shows. They started with Helix in January, and while I really enjoyed the show, its first season was far from perfect, with plotholes the size of a Pandora Gate. But it provided some good idea for EP. The Silver Eyes, for example, could make nice exhuman/Singularity Seekers oligarchs using a hypercorporation as front. Next in the starting blocks is Dominion. Not really in our alley, but it could be fun to watch none the less Coming in june is the second season of Defiance. While I get tired of the game in about a trimester, I've been watching the first season about four times by now. And the teaser for the second season looks quite promising
