Here's a weird hypothetical I came up with reading the forking rules that I'm curious about:
A transhuman creates an alpha fork of themselves. Ninety minutes later they create a second alpha fork and then merge the two forks. If they were to then merge themselves with the merged forks, would they be treated as merging with a fork they diverged from less than one hour ago or a fork they diverged from one to four hours ago? Would this change if one of the forks was a beta or gamma fork?

They would be treated as merging with the most distant fork (in this case, 4 hours).Nothing changes from merging with beta or delta forks. And don't ever merge with a gamma fork, what is wrong with you?

There are some cases where the rules don't really give a good answer.
You could simply say it's tha ltest time but on the other hand you already have all the memories up to a certain point so why not take the shorter time? Maybe something in between?
I would probably use the rule 'for how much time has there been different memories'.
