I have to second consumerdestroyer here. A synthmorph running a biobrain would be undetectable short of running a brainscan on it, or having another async with the power that detects asyncs in range of him.

Honestly, they will know it is a dude in a suit. This flat will look like it is wearing some sort of exo. Someone will ping all the networks they have and track this bastard's parent's names down; they can sweep the thing with dozens of senses to cross reference the gait, radiation, et cetra with known synth and biomorphs; watch him like a hawk and hack the mesh inserts only to discover there is no cyberbrain; or match the design with an entire anonymous legion of Open-Source+ fanatics who want nothing more than to figure it out and put it on the mesh. Sure, you could give them dead ends or red herrings to cover your reveal, but really, then it shows them that what they attempt does not matter. You can definitely put this flat in an exo-suit and say he looks like a synth at first glance. It will make them interested to find out why this idiot is wearing an exo all the time. The only possible way you could get away with it is because they are new to Eclipse Phase. And if that is the case: sheath the flat in a shock-proof, reactive, thermal damping, self-healing smart-skin. Then you can have someone who looks like the Silver Surfer. They will wonder what morph it is for quite a while. Also: being psychic should be the surprise. Asyncs are rarer than the exsurgent virus. There are more existential threats than asyncs (though they do attract each other). Never play down the psychic. I think the biocore option is pretty rad. Add a twist and biocore a pod. Or a space station. Or maybe the exo-suit is holding a brain in a jar.

When you stated that the costume unveil was more important than the async part, I pressumed as much. Why would anyone expect brain probes? because EP characters are paranoid, or should be paranoid. I cannot remember the number of times synths wore vacsuits into unexplored stations just to have a slightly better chance of surviving (viral touch infections). For the record, I used a biocore async and half-way through the session a PC fired a seeker pistol at the async and blew his brains out 'on a hunch'. The async had succeeded in using one chi slight that went undetected. At least the async backed up and was able resleeve into a biocore reaper for his revenge, but I was still shocked at the quickness. Mind that my groups have been playing EP and related games for quite a while—and more than a fair share of headshots in good faith have been 'oopsies' that lead to a few scrapped morphs.
