emergency backups, mental speed, & extra stacks
Some questions sent by PM, which I'll respond to here... -Can an Informorph use the Multi Taskin mental augmentation? Maybe as a software upgrade (like the others on Transhuman) or installint the upgrade on a server -The Emergency Back Up Plug in (trans-human pag 140) says that the copy of the ego is transmitted using the mesh and "To prevent ego theft, the backup copies are transmitted using quantum cryptography". The rules about quantum cryptography say that you only can use emtabling 2 or more comunicators, so you cant use in the mesh because it use different receivers. Could you explain me this please? -Can you install a second cortical Stack in your morph? 1. You can house rule this into your game if you really want to, but for my money, it'd be overkill. 2. Your talking about quantum communication, not cryptography. Quantum comm requires dedicated devices. Quantum encryption is just really good encryption that you can then send over any type of link you want. 3. Don't see why not. If I were a GM houseruling that, I'd probably require some type of additional interface for the second stack be bought. Most morphs would only be designed to work with a single stack unless customized.

I suspect as a back up for a back up. Everyone knows to target the base of the skull with plasma to reduce their chances of identifying their killer (you), but if they had a second back up in their spine somewhere, and you didn't spend the time to X-Ray the body to find it, you'd just pop their stack (or fry it with aforementioned plasma) and then carried on, while someone else, friendly probably to know about their back up stack, then resleeves them. Or such if my guess.
Exhuman, and Humanitarian.

i get why right now quantum entangling can only occur at very short distances given our current state of tech but in 10 af why could that distance not have increased over the century(ies)?

As I understand it, you can use a QE comm unit on an exoplanet and have a real-time conversation with someone back in our solar system (or on another exoplanet), so I'd say the distance has increased quite a bit.

not what i meant. yes use of them distance is irreverent but the manufacturing still required close proximity. entanglement is done at manufacture and used up later

The long and short of it is: they need to get entangled first. That's what makes it quantum entanglement. I'd say that entangling at a distance is, to borrow some Orion's Arm parlance, some Clarketech level stuff (i.e. post-Singularity AI that exceed the TITANs by an order of magnitude or three might be able to do something about that).
