Somehow the notion of Jovian entertainment makes me think they just show modern sci-fi movies: action-oriented, scientifically-questionable, a little alarmist, but entertaining-if-mindless. And somewhere behind it all, Michael Bay is still alive and well and living like a king. Also, no polity that celebrates [i]el Día de los Muertos[/i] could ever be [i]completely[/i] evil. Plus, jokes aside, I would think that holiday—which celebrates life and death alike—would be more important than ever in light of the Fall ... and it certainly sounds like a hell of a lot more fun than the austere reflections of Fall Day in the LLA.

Oh come on. You know that NCIS:Ganymede is a Thing. Plus just think of the mad plots on All My Children or a similar soap opera when aliens, mad AI, and such are real. "Brad! But you were lost in that space cruise liner accident and fell into space!" "Yes Lucy, and a TITAN brought me back. But it had no hold on me... I love you." Of course, such shows would be meme-tailored to reinforce bigotry against transhumans, uplifts, and AGI, as well as reminding people to trust the Juncta. That isn't all that different from modern TV though.

Oh that would be kick-ASS! It would be like Lucha Libre mixed with the WWF! You want to make a heroic Jovian character, make him a Face in the style of Hulk Hogan or Stone Cold and have him be a Firewall sleeper agent who piledrives X-Threats!

I'm neutral on the depiction of it. That being said, I know I will always be representing myself as a Don Quixote-esque space pirate with his motley crew! The odd thing is my backstory actually originates in the colonies that would become the Junta. So my character's history is inextricably tied to it.

I'd be inclined to think the lucha tradition would survive in many regions of the system post-Fall. I'm sure the scum would readily embrace something so colorful and dripping with self-expression.

Oh absolutely,there are certainly going to be different iterations of popular sports throughout the system. I generally feel that Scum hobbies run towards the rough and tumble side of things. Motorball from Battle Angel or the "tournaments" from Bloodsport or Kickboxer would be good examples. However, that's playing to Scum stereotypes. Just as likely are swarms dedicated to collecting books or restoring historical spacecraft à la the Commemorative Air Force!

on the subject of violent sports *Founds the Liandri hyper corporation* Unreal Tournament has begun :) Hmm what kind of X-threats could stem from brutal sporting events? first thing off the top of my head would be some ultra competitive type go rummaging for titan bioengineering samples hoping to gain an edge but transhumanity is already pretty free form with gene modding anyways...

Transhuman vs. Exsurgent matches comes to mind. How long before it gets out? Army of Darkness has a great example of how that could go. Yeah the " edge at any cost" type is another good one...check out "The Running Man" anime short for a possible async gone wrong. With the CAF example there could be bits of TITAN war machine left behind in battle damage- what infected Iapetus, right? Or some type of drone to be your own personal reenactment of the movie Alien or -ugh-Hardware.
