Ark - A Gatecrashing campaign
I wrote a new campaign for The RPG X-Cast to play through. It is based on a post about colony ships which I can't seem to find any more. This campaign will take the players through a Pandora Gate to the planet of Alpha Centauri B-D. They will be investigating multiple sites including a crashed Colony ship that seemed to have originated from Pre-Fall Earth. This is a great introduction to Gatecrashing or even to the universe of Eclipse Phase though there may be teething issues among players who have no clue about the setting. You can grab a PDF download here. Let me know what you guys think. Feedback is welcome as there are some plot seeds that I would like to expand on.

That post was for advice while still writing the campaign. I have made significant changes to it after some other peoples writing advice, running the campaign, and getting player feedback. While you won't be able to read the original at the time of posting (link leads to a live Google docs link). There has been some major additions, including a ship diagram, expansion on the encountered alien life and lots of continuity corrections.

I gave the pdf a read and subscribed to the podcast. Definitely interested in seeing where your players take it. Does the campaign extend beyond the gatecrashing adventure into a full-fledged saga, or is it just one stop for them between different existential threats?

So far it's just been two
So far it's just been two 'one shots'. Our first GM is writing up some plots seeds and I've got some ideas for more stuff to do on Alpha Centauri B-D, so am hoping to make it into a Saga.

Ah, I have a different idea of campaign. I listened to the first episode and will continue. Always love a good EP AP.

Oooh! I'm doing a lot of writing (for my EP campaign and other writings) that makes music more conducive background audio, but once I've got some concentration free I will give a listen! I've enjoyed the Rag-NERD-roK and RPPR stuff that I had a chance to listen to before starting my campaign. Hearing how other people run a system is great prep for running a system, I've found (and it was true this time around as well), as well as good for inspiration/chortles 'n giggles.

I read the adventure, and I
I read the adventure, and I don't like it for a variety of reasons. 1. According to Rimward, the furthest-flung remnant of pre-Fall humanity is the probe Ningjing at 30k AU, far short of the 277k AU to Alpha Centauri. 2. The design of the ship is wrong. It's clearly designed for atmospheric flight, while an interstellar colony ship would not be. Every kilogram wasted streamlinging the ship is a kilogram not spent on fuel or cargo. A hypothetical transhuman colony ship would look entirely different, probably more like the Discovery One from 2001: A Space Odyssey than anything else (though the central spine would probably be entirely fuel tanks). This isn't Star Wars; Eclipse Phase is hard scifi. 3. If the "raccoons" were pre-Singularity, then they'd be unable to use the Pandora Gates to explore, since you need a Seed AI to make an interface for them, and if they're using reaction engines, then we'd probably be able to spot their drive plumes from that distance. 4. The way that Chronos uses his psychic powers in the first scene the PCs meet with him gives the game away; it's not possible to break into people's networks that quickly and easily, and since "regular" psychic powers don't work that way, it's a clear sign that he's an Exsurgent; savvy PCs will immediately open fire, before purging any data he sent them on the presumption that it's a vector of Exsurgent infection. 5. In general, the adventure is railroady as fuck, and doesn't account for PC capabilities. A hundred unarmed nanozombies will be blown to kibble by a prepared group of PCs, once they open up with the rocket launchers and the machine guns.
