Morph On Cover of Core Rulebook?
I was just wondering as I was reading through some material in the Core Rulebook, what morph is that? Is it an uplift, or perhaps a Bouncer? Any conclusions? Also, is that mechanical appendage protruding from the back of the morph, or some sort of tail -thoughts of an uplift-?

I figure...
I'd always assumed it was just a standard Bouncer in a vacsuit with a Prehensile Tail aug.

good question. the feet appear to have 2 large manipulative toes and the head is elongated. i cant think of any likely suspects for those features

I don't think we have an official answer to this. Bodysculpting, prehensile feet, and tails are all things you can apply to any morph. I've always thought of it as a sculpted bouncer, but maybe it's a Hyperbright with its heatsink crests folded back into a cooling system in the anterior of the helmet. Or put another way, Stephan Martiniere is more fun to work with if you just let him go crazy. :)

For my money, I imagine it's a probably a biosculpted neo-homonid. Whatever he is, though, he looks like he's having a [i]baaaaaaad[/i] day. The question is: was he trying to flee on his EVA pack and that exsurgent habitat just sprouted a mechanical Dead Space tentacle to grab him, or was he fighting it inside and it grabbed him and summarily spaced him? Is he about to be dragged to his doom, or flung to it? Either way, I hope to hell he has an emergency farcaster. He's gonna need one.

It looks like he was trying to flee for his life, but was quickly snagged into an unimaginable and grisly death. It would seem like suicide to try and retrieve the cortical stack. Let's hope that ego doesn't incur too much lack...

If you're desperate and a liiiiitle bit crazy (and by that I mean completely fucking nuts,) you can get a morph with a head and neck designed to detach explosively (as in, by explosive bolts.) Then just wear a helmet that incorporates a reaction wheel, a solid rocket booster and a loud screaming beacon. In that kind of situation, autodecapitation followed by boosting into an orbit well the hell away from that monstrosity starts to look like a good idea. If your helmet incorporates solar panels or an RTG battery and you have a cyberbrain, you can even maintain full continuity, though you're gonna be awful unhappy until someone rescues you. (IF someone bothers.) Or your muse can pilot your "cranial escape pod" while you sleep the sleep of the dead. ('Cause you are dead.) Still beats whatever end Mr. Tentacle has in mind.

Of course an emergency farcaster makes for a rather messy teleportation - BAMF! Now I'm thinking a bouncer/ghost hybrid morph sounds pretty awesome actually. While we're on the topic, what are your thoughts on where the cover of Rimward is happening? My money is on Triton.

That's not difficult in the slightest. Grip pads, prehensile feet, Limber (1) trait, oxygen reserve, bing badda boom, you've hybridized whatever you're wearing with a Bouncer.

I can just hear the Core cover dude upon resleeve: "Man, I lost my favourite tricked out morph! I wonder how..." Muse: Searching...the last vid feed capturing your likeness saw you entering an airlock...searching...found it! There's the ship that left that airlock, I can probably find out where it was headed within the next 15-20. "All right! Time to go get my sweet morph back! I'm [i]already[/i] sick of this clunky-ass clank." And the endless cycle of synthfood for the TITANtacle beast begins...

That actually DOES look like some TITAN machine tentacle of some sort. I always wondered what that appendage was from, and I'm pretty sure it is from the TITANs...
