PAN, Hacking, Muses, etc.
Can you be hacked via your smartlinked gun? I had a player who preferred guns w/o this system to avoid that. I assume a cyberbrain and the basic mesh inserts can be hacked via peripherals on your PAN then? But then your Muse can counter as well despite being in your mesh inserts? Also your Muse is a sort of infomorph/AI so it has a speed of 3 then? Or will it be unable to stop a Multitasking hacker who attempts to hack your mesh inserts, your gun, and your othet assorted mesh-active devices?

Good point...
related question: do egos in a ghost rider module count as being sleeved for the purpose of getting aptitude bonuses, and not having Speed 3?

Not unless you have the infosec of a non-uplifted howler monkey. Everyone else slaves those devices to their mesh inserts/ecto, so as to prevent exactly that. And if your player is really, truly worried about that, advise him to invest in skinlink nanites and never have to fret it again. It's really not worth losing that all-vital +10 weapon skill, especially since everything you face with a gun will have it against you.

In fact, your muse can resist attempts to hack your mesh/ecto. It's an AI, like any other, and investing in a good Infosec score for your muse is a very wise idea. Remember firstly that any devices of yours can't be hacked if they're slaved to your mesh/ecto and consequently ignore input from any other source. Such sources would have to spoof commands from your mesh/ecto to do so, which is going to be literally impossible short of heavy nanite infiltration of your person if the person who's attempted to be hacked is using skinlink nannies. (And if the hostiles have heavily infiltrated your person with nanites, be glad they're there to open wireless links to hack your smartgun and not disassemble you. Either way, probably a good time to pop your emergency farcaster.)

No. A ghostrider module is simply a device upon which an informorph can run that happens to be carried in someone's head. A ghostrider would no more count as "sleeved" than someone running on a computer being carried in someone's hand. They still benefit from infolife Speed 3, and do not benefit (or suffer) from any aptitude bonii or limitations caused by the morph of the person they're ghostriding. On the other hand, they could be running in an eidolon in the ghostrider module. The ghostrider is just a computer in someone's head for an extra character to ride along with someone. It was probably thought of first and foremost as a means for a team to bring along someone who wanted to be an infomorph full-time, so there's definitely no need for such limitations, as they'd defeat in detail the point of being an infomorph.

As stated above the usual way
As stated above the usual way to arrange your pan is with all peripherals (including smart gun) slaved to your mesh inserts (or ecto) your muse resides in your mesh inserts and acts as gatekeeper actively defending with its InfoSec skill. Of causes an AI its skill is limited, I am not shore wether the muse gats the speed of a basic info morph but if it comes under serious attack from a serious info morph hacker it will be losing on skill and action economy. It is because of this risk that guns do still have triggers. You can fire the gun effectively even if the smart link is compromised simply deactivate it manually (some weapons may not have this option).
