From the KS updates posted 15:th October: "Singularity has reached another backstage production milestone and we're working on some backend web stuff to deliver it as a beta in the near future." So hopefully a beta soon (this year?).

It's a chargen program for which there's been conspicuously little news. Then again I didn't get a chance to back the Transhuman kickstarter so it might be there's updates on it through KS; all I have to go on is Snow Dog's website which hasn't talked about Singularity since August. I'm sure they're making great progress and all, but it would be nice to hear about it instead of just silence.

I think Kindalas is the only person who's been able to actually follow through on any kind of comprehensive character generator. There've been at least 4 other attempts that all tend to get 30-80% there and then lose interest or things get too difficult and it languishes. I'm now calling it "The Curse Of The CharGen"! I really hope this is not the case with Singularity. P.S. There does seem to be a VERY promising and active project for an HTML/CSS/Javascript solution happening right now. You'll have to check it out in the homebrew forums though, since this thread is about Singularity.

A character generation program is what I really, really want. Furthermore, I love the Android OS and I love my tablet. I already have the EP die-roller app; I have a whole passel of apps for Pathfinder. Give me an official character generator for Android and I'll be glad to pony up.

Someone on one my EP G+ groups said they'd gotta an 'invite' for the Beta version of Singularity, (though you are right the public information has been pretty non existant since August (8.23.2013) to be specific). So he'd let us on the group know what it was going on about-- if he's not under an NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement). So here's to hoping.

The Singularity testers won't
The Singularity testers won't be under any sort of NDA. Doing a private beta isn't about keeping information private, it's about a) rewarding those who made Singularity possible and b) keeping the number of testers to a manageable level.

Very true. I didn't know if it was 'private beta' (i.e. practical beta )since it was a Backer stretch goal for Transhuman), but I know some people when they do something like that it's been 'NDA territory' for some reason or another.

Is there any chance you might let us buy into Singularity to get into the Beta? I don't mind paying full price or whatever. I didn't have any money during the Transhuman kickstarter, or else I would have done so then. What if I promise to give tonnes of feedback? I'm basically waiting for it to come out so I can play my online game. The players are terrible at CC, and having a builder would be so useful.

Thanks for the update on Singularity. Is there any chance we might see such updates on a more regular basis? I've been checking Snow Dog's website, but they haven't made mention of Singularity in almost six months. It'd be nice to hear how the project is coming along without having to poke and prod and pester for news. "Singularity" seems an apt name for the software: instead of progress updates, there's just a black hole.

We all got busy enough in the last half of 2013 that communications took a backseat to getting things done. We spent a bunch of time at the Posthuman Summit at the end of 2013 talking about that issue, and have taken some steps to get over it. We're still trying to break through a giant logjam of things: Transhuman KS stretch goals, releasing Shinobi Clans, etc. 2014 is going to be a sweet year. :-)

Then I noticed there are no actual links to that page as far as I can tell, so I'm not sure if it's actually a usable page currently. So, is the page actually accepting orders or is it still being set up?

Orders are not currently being taken through that system - the page was disconnected for a reason. ;) But yes - Singularity will be into beta shortly. We've been working on getting all the emails into the system as they come to us. A number of folks used one email address on the Kickstarter and a different on their forum account so we've been tracking those down to get them hooked up.

There was an order form I was supposed to use during the Kickstarter?! I pledged sufficient to cover a group licence ($50) but I never realised there was a separate order form I was supposed to fill in. Is there something I should do to get my order in the system now? Do I just email you?

We took some direct orders on our website via PayPal for people who missed the Kickstarter or who can't use credit cards. If you pledged for Singularity in the actual Kickstarter process, you should have already received several emails inviting you into the beta process, which is ongoing. If you did not, for some reason, email me and I'll get you hooked up. :)

I've got a question - when Singularity gets released, will we be able to buy a bulk-use for it, like if I, as GM, wanted to grab a copy for my entire group? Or will it be more restricted than that? EDIT: Looks like there was a group license thing in the Kickstarter phase? How many egos would that cover? (Also, is it going to be able to handle custom morphs?)

So... how goes Singularity? It's just I missed out on the Kickstarter, and I want to run an online game with some friends, and a character builder would make that loads easier. I mean, I could use the Kindalas spreadsheet, but the shinyness of an official builder will help encourage my players.
