What games mechanically inspired EP?
Talking purely in terms of mechanics (and not literary and thematic inspiration), what games predate Eclipse Phase and bear some mechanical similarity to it? Obviously, SR 4e and EP have some elements in common (including designers). Do we have any idea where the idea of using a d100 mechanic game from? I have recently started to get curious about the various traceries of relation that RPGs bear to other table top RPGs and wargames.

Mechanically speaking, EP
Mechanically speaking, EP really does boil down to "streamlined SR4 with percentile dice". Given the horror elements, it wouldn't be hard to conclude that Call of Cthulhu's use of percentile dice may have been an influence.
