Greetings,
I have finished reading Transhuman, but the issue of Infolife acquiring PSI has not been addressed. I mean you cannot make a starting Infolife character (per the core rulebook) with PSI. But is anything prohibiting you from acquiring it later in play?
Do the new backgrounds for Infolife lift this restriction? (The balance of positive and negative traits points to it, but I don't wish to assume)
Thanks for all the help.

The restrictions on AGI not
The restrictions on AGI not having Psi are at character creation only, the same way that the CP cost modifiers on skills are only at character creation. If you are infected with Watts-MacLeod during play, and you spend the Rez points to pick it up, you can be an AGI with mindpowers just fine.
And yes, the new background from Transhuman allow you to be an AGI character with Psi from the beginning. Which is good in my mind, because AGI not having Psi was always quite arbitrary in my mind. They have been around for longer than the virus has been, why couldn't they have been infected?

I always thought the reason
I always thought the reason AGIs couldn’t have PSI is because the Watts-MacLeod strain only infects organics, and the PSI trait as generated by Watts-MacLeod only functions in an organic morph.
This would mean logically an AGI that sleaved in an organic morph could contract Watts-MacLeod strain and get the PSI trait but would have to remain in an organic morph to use PSI and would still have the psych problems sleaving into a synth (unless they took the tolerance trait)
This setup is incredibly improbable which explains why AGI with psi was initially disallowed if anybody actually wanted to play that setup I see know reason to deny them, the no PSI trait permitted wouldn’t likely have been worth any value in the AGI background balancing.

And also...
An AI infected by Exurgence is pretty much exactly what the TITANs are/were. The player would have to keep their character's identity behind at least seven proxies at any given time, lest the lynch mobs come out.
