Mental Speed not good for team?
Chit chatted with a buddy and we came to realization that Mental Speed, while really cool, is risky in team based combat. Sure you have more time to observe and react, but when you're buddy is yelling "Duck! Seeker!", all you really hear is muuuuuummmmbbbllleeeeeee. AR messaging and E-tags might solve the issue?

Wouldn't it be *so* easy to
Wouldn't it be *so* easy to just replay the video/audio repeatedly as it comes in (at whatever speed you want)? Or just turn on closed captioning?

In a combat situation, this
In a combat situation, this is what TacNet software is for. You percieve everything your team mates see. In fact, with Mental Speed, you may notice things in a friendly POV before they do. And can shoot them a quick encrypted VPN braintext when you do, and also highlight things they need to notice. Being constantly linked in an encrypted network also solves it the other way, since allies can bring information to your attention. While, if you're crunching at full running speed, they're input may feel like it takes a while to arrive (at though once it reaches you, you'll process it at your normal speed), you still have as much time or more to process and react to it.

I think someone with mental
I think someone with mental speed is still able to hear all speech normally, they just have much more time to think in between. Sort of the same effect of high amounts of adrenaline.

Newton Pulsifier has it right
Newton Pulsifier has it right - your muse would simply be buffering your audio channels, so incoming messages was buffered and played at high speed (the muse has enough intelligence to distinguish urgent messages where parts of it need to be relayed instantly in parts and messages that can wait until everything has been said), and outgoing messages are buffered and transmitted at normal speed to teammembers.

I thought so too at first, but then read "actively using it renders ordinary conversation and social interactions difficult and requires concentration to maintain." I guess having your muse pass the message along in text or fast forward might work. Just hope the character doesn't act before the whole message gets trough. The fluff says you can plan the situation even if you only have a split second, and see a single frame in video, I assumed most people would speed up, look over what's happening, then act, as waiting for friends to talk would feel like a couple of minutes?
