I'm tapped out on RPG money for the rest of the year :D I didn't buy a copy of Rimward, and I was comp'd for Gatecrashing and Panopticon. I think I still come out fairly well in regards to my entertainment earned vs. money spent Eclipse Phase wise.

Yeah, I'd have been absolutely thrilled to have the official art. I still put my backing in already for the $60 tier and I'm thinking about bumping it up to a higher tier; we'll see what happens.

If the Kickstarter would reach much higher funding, would it be possible to get more art by some interesting artists? For example maybe Brom with one or two illustrations, or maybe a comic panel illustration from Dresden Codak(but I am honest to admit that I don't know much about the costs for such a thing)? Just thinking about stretch goals... I contributed at Brinker level-couldn't wait :P :P Since I don't need the physical book yet and cost of delivery to EU is too great, I will wait if there are any interesting pledge awards later and might contribute more later. PS:And I really hope that this kickstarter will eventually lead to X-threats sourcebook kickstarter one day :D

Working on an update! :) And just a head-ups, we added a $10 backer level for people new to Eclipse Phase -- it contains the core rulebook PDF and PDF/ePub versions of four pieces of fiction. So if you want to promote the Transhuman Kickstarter to sci-fi fans who aren't necessarily gamers or gamers who haven't read/played EP before, there's a natural pledge level to point them to!

Interesting that people seem willing to pay more when they're helping to fund than when buying the finished product. Participation and helping out really is its own reward to the extent we even want to pay for it! I also think it is great that you're creating extra value by letting high level backers influence the game. It is fun for them, and the more money an EP product can generate the more products we'll see and the greater they'll be (I can't help but notice how most stretch goals involve money for artists and freelancers). I understand you might not want to disclose too many economic details, but how is the kickstarter going compared to your initial projections and your other books? Is this a business model that could let you release books more often?

I'd say that all of them do, indirectly or directly: because almost every goal involves more Eclipse Phase stuff being made, and people get paid for that. :-)

I think it's too soon to talk about the overall impact on our business model. It's very promising, and we have great stuff to come in ways of backer rewards and stretch goals, but it's hard to compare it to a traditional book release because it's just so different -- and of course, we won't know for months how it effects other things (such as our sales figures at Gen Con, the initial sales of Transhuman through distribution, etc.)

I'm surprised that only one person has signed up for The-Worst-Gaming-Session-Ever pledge so far. Consider this. It contains the Ultimate pledge (60 Dollars) And participation in a game that can be enjoyed by 3 or 4 people. If one person pays to keep the book to himself, that'd make the game session cost 190 dollars. If you conspired to split that with some friends it'd be $47.50 for each of the 4 players (though the guy who keeps the hardcopy of the book would pay $107.50)

But even though I have a credit card I couldn't take part in other Kickstarters because you need a US credit card. Anyone knows if this has changed or if it is possible to use paypal or something similar?

You shouldn't need an American credit card; as long as your Amazon account recognizes your credit card, you should be able to pledge.

I know that most of my posts in this topic have been similar, but; There is another $300 Promethean backer spot open. Seems like someone dropped it again. As a Promethean you get to suggest a character to be used as one of the example character creation characters, as well as the rewards you would get from the Ultimate level of funding. Remember that Kickstarter does not charge your card until the project is fully funded (May 22nd), and you technically have a week after that before your pledge is dropped entirely (don't do that though). So if you don't have the money now, but know for sure that you will by the 22nd, you could still pledge at the $300 level now.
