I intend to do more morphs in a similar vein to the Tigris (see below), but making morphs that are thematically silo'd seems to be more difficult for me than it used to be. So if anyone has any suggestions for other human/animal hybrids I would be happy to have a go at them, but it might take me a little while to put them to a mechanical structure that actually feels decent.
A note: Because the morphs created for this are relatively standard, rules wise, I am not going to use the official Morph Creation rules in their current form. I personally don't find that they create good CP costs. Instead I will be using my own system, which can be found fairly easily by searching these forums, or the Eye fanzine. They are far from perfect, and need a couple of reiterations themselves, but I am more comfortable with them at the moment.
Dr. Moreau
Pre-Fall Earth was a strange place to live. Unprecedented material wealth combined with unbridled access to technology drove many of the planets eccentric genius' on creative sprees previously unseen. Although morph design was still a relatively young science by todays standards, forward thinking pioneers still accomplished fascinating steps forward. One of those pioneers was a man now recalled as Dr. Moreau.
Although his birth name was lost in the data wipes of the Fall, Dr. Moreaus legacy lives on in the morphs that he designed, many of which are still in use by the morphologically adventurous today. Focused almost entirely on the creation of human/animal hybrids, Moreaus work deviated from parallel Uplift research in that he had no real interest in the actual animals. He focused on the combination of a human mind/ego with the body of a human/animal hybrid.
His work was latched onto by thousands across the world, many of whom uprooted their entire lives to move closer to Moreau, setting up a research facility on a long abandoned island off the eastern coast of Madagascar. Although there was some outside criticism of his methods, specifically from animal rights advocates, Moreaus work never really gained the traction that Uplift research accomplished, at least within the general populace.
Dr. Moreau is recorded as having died during the Fall, but many of his creations successfully fought their way to the African space elevator, buying their way off planet with the proceeds of Moreaus work. They carried with them research notes, and after escaping the horrors of the Fall many regrouped on Mars, where they continue Moreaus work. Progress has been slowed by the loss of their leader, but development is beginning to pick up.
Tigris (BioMorph, Moreau)
Half human, half tiger, the Tigris morph was one of the first Moreaus to come out of the good doctors laboratories. Standing close to 2m tall when fully upright, the Tigris has a natural habit of slouching down closer to the transhuman baseline. Covered in a thick coat of fine, patterned fur the Tigris is also renowned for its beauty and gracefulness in motion.
Though used primarily by the followers of Dr. Moreau, the morph has also found some use in the defence sectors, where its physical presence and increased strength are considerable assets.

CP Cost: 45
Credit Cost: Expensive (40,000)
New Implants:
Thick Skin
The morph is covered in particularly tough, thick skin that protects it from many casual dangers. Differing from Bioweave in that it offers little protection against energy attacks, the Thick Skin implant is popular for its ability to shrug off kinetic blows with some ease. This provides an Armor rating of 0/5 without decreasing the the morph's mobility or sense of touch. This armour is cumulative with worn armor. [Low]
Balanced Tail
Similar to the common Prehensile Tail implant, this particular variant is not prehensile. Instead it is designed to keep the user balanced, providing a +20 to any Physical skill test where balance is a factor. [Trivial]
Vicious Claws
The morph has protractible claws like those of a cat. These claws are particularly large, and sharp, getting in the way of most physical activities when extended. Any activity that requires precise manual limb dexterity while these claws are extended suffer from a -20 modifier. Attacks made with the claws are not subject to this modifier, and do 2d10+(SOM/10) damage with an AP of -2. [Low]
New Traits:
Moreau (Morph)
This morph is the product of Dr. Moreaus research into human/animal hybrids. Although his methods differed from those used in Uplift research, his end product is similar in many ways. A morph with this trait may use any augmentations and traits that are normally only available to Uplift morphs.
Painful Motion (Morph)
This morph is capable of numerous different mobility methods, however switching between them is physically painful. Switching from one mobility method to the other is a quick action, and inflicts 2DV of strain damage that may not be reduced via any method. Although this trait may be taken by Synthmorphs, it is intended to be used primarily on Biomorphs and Pods.
