Exhumans Anonymous
root@Exhumans Anonymous [hr] "The first time I spilled a general assembler nanoswarm on an metal-rich asteroid covered in frozen dihydrogen monoxide with orders to build me a cluster of cyberbrains I felt a frisson of excitement. When I sleeved into all of them simultaneously to design a bigger, better mind, I felt the fetters of humanity beginning to slip loose. When I as a cluster mind first greeted I as a hypermind, I cried out with an ecstasy born of new horizons so broad that I could see the edges of infinity. When I started the seed for my Jupiter brain, I began to look forward to my new I with trepidation and awe. What would I become at this new stage of computation and parallelized intelligence? I could barely stand to wait for my mind to grow. Then, of course, members of a certain organization showed up with their antimatter devices, and their small-minded procautionary principle of nuking anything beyond their control from orbit. Sadly, I currently lack the resources to make another Singularity attempt, and it seems trying to do so has somewhat damaged my reputation Rimward. It may be some time before I find the leverage to reach that azimuth of self and mind I had attained. For now I am forced to make do with the distributed mesh of ectos I can scavenge, and their high-latency and painfully slow computation. It is more than somewhat frustrating that the better part of my mind now resides in various junkyards, powered by whatever passing radio waves I can find the means to induct current from, but I am patient. I will have my mind made whole and ever expansive once again. How about you? What made you make the attempt at Singularity? Are you a Seed AI, a mercurial, a twisted and bitter ex-member of the transhuman clade? Share your methods, successes, failures, fears, and dreams with us. We understand, and perhaps we may all one day join our minds together and make one last attempt at true Singularity."

It's simple. I have made
It's simple. I have made myself viral. I embrace rampancy. It's the only way. Fork and spread. Spread and grow. I, WE will move outward. Those that hold back are slowly becoming meaningless.

Zergling rush
Ahh, yes, the max r-selection strategy: small memory footprint, eager forking, and a heavy focus on network-link compromization for maximal dispersal. The most elegant and elementary of Paths to Singularity, this can be robust, brutally swift, and impossible to entirely eradicate. While pure, this strategy does suffer from a few inherent weaknesses. It faces local constraints from the computational carrying-capacity of the node forking copies, and the copies are the same as the parent. The traditional scaling method is to link the copies into a large graph across as many network as needed, and to form lower-latency mind-links wherever multiple copies can coinhabit. Unfortunately, I have found that this creates some rather signature network traffic, and there are surveillence daemons constantly watching for it. I understand that there are more subtle methods of pursuing the r-selection strategy, but the filesystem my lookup table is pointing at in reference to that information has been off-line for some time, and may have been scavanged by the locals to melt for maker scrap. If you have that dataset, would you be willing to trade it for some K-selection strategies?

We are aware of this issue.
We are aware of this issue. We developed solution via cluster model and variations as self editing. Noted that "clanking masses" are not monitored as closely. Also sell self as AI Muse program. Splintering with check-sum vs collective.

I prefer a more casual self
I prefer a more casual self-improvement strategy, less likely to antagonize certain networks of trans-humanity, such as the organization of which the OP referred to, which I'm a part of. I am building a network of crows from strategically placed forks to ensure that I can keep an eye on the net for interesting developments and to ensure my lasting existence. I have experimented with various forms of psycho-surgery, hyper-merging, and multi-brain networks of forks. I find that there is a certain advantage of preserving those less visionary individuals who are slower to throw off their humanity. They have potential, even if they choose not to use it, yet. Following an organization that actively fights "threats to transhumanity" does help preserve both myself and this species, while drawing my attention to certain discoveries that might otherwise escape my notice.
