Tiger Moreau

I have a concept for a character that is Tiger Moreau, by Moreau I mean a being that started out as half human half tiger then got gene tweaked from there. IMHO a moreau and a uplift are two different ways of achieving a similar goal. What I am loosely basing concept on is from a Sci Fi book series of Swann.. The moreau is a biped, possessing finger digits complex enough to use common tools, yes can retractable claws. The moreau does have a tail but not a monkey tail ie prehensile. Body chemistry is close enough to use human diet(meat/omnivore) and human pharmaceuticals. Directional Hearing. Increased Hearing cross between what a blank human has and a tiger. Increased Sense of Smell cross between what a blank human has and a tiger. Better than blank human strength, agility and reaction times. Yes skin would have a fur covering. Would have larger teeth than a blank human but not anywhere near a real tiger. Frontal part of skull would not be as flat was a blank human but not as elongated as a tiger. Having large amount of human brain DNA and a larger cranium, brings moreau to blank human intelligence. Vision base line would be diminished color but increased black and white sensitivity. Yes that does mean some low light vision but not IR. Minor affinity for cats if possible. OK can anyone "create" a moreau/uplift using the play test rules? Thank You

Why not try to make it yourself? The rules aren't particularly complicated. I doubt you'll have any trouble making this thing; it isn't "special" like morphs like the surya or q-morph.

Indeed. Creating all kinds of exotic morphs shouldn't be impossible, especially if most of this is just for looks. I imagine the Furry fandom having a ball in a transhuman society and making up quite a bulk of the Mercurial faction.

The changes just won't be genetic, just cosmetic. And I bet, *cough* ahem, fixing that is a major area of research for certain Mercurial researchers... Heck, on further thought, this sounds exactly like the sort of thing those rogue biohackers on Fortean get up to. I'd bet that they don't have a full biomorph of a "tiger moreau" yet, but almost certainly a tiger-man pod morph by now...

I for my part have no problems with it and actually think that even scum experiment in that direction. "Yeah, Ka3's morph looks like a androgynous tiger, but tell you what, the genetic code is to 80% human, since its just a pod! M'reng's morph on the other hand is legitimatly a genetic hybrid and it looks rad! Not to mention how it feels..."

I sort of worried about that when I saw uplifts were part of the game a reaction of "uh oh, next thing ya know were gonna get all kinds of semi-perv animal anime porn pictures of people's uplift characters" so far I don't see it and sure hope I don't, I think an association like that would only hurt the game's chances for wider acceptance. I got no problem with homosexuals, faggots in pink leotards? Well I guess as long as the don't have a problem getting laughed at and I have the option of avoiding the worst of em that's fine. but I draw the line at furries. buddy of mine "comes out" as a furry, sends emails to every acquaintance he has announcing his love of furrydom and devotion to it's lifestyle, an outline of his animorph (character?) or whatever, and offered a link to a website to help all us ignorant "mundanes" accept his choice... I went to that website, read the forum, found a posting demanding rights for "zoosexuals" and a link to his that furry's home site. I checked that out. What I found was a 40 page graphically detailed PDF handbook outlining how to train your pets to have sex with you. I said, no, this cant be! Furries are about dressing up like sports mascots and goofing around, this cant be real, then found the "poll" of furry fans that showed 78% were sexually attracted to animals, and around 18% were desiring or currently having sex with animals. I'm sorry but people fantasizing about or actually having intercourse with dogs is something I will happily exclude from my life. If that makes me a bigot in your eyes that's fine, if it drives people who are zoophiles or people who associate with people who are zoophiles away from the game all the better.

Outstanding Arse Hattery Bigotry . EP is set in the future where many concepts will grate against bigots. Playing EP and reading how to engage in bestiality to me are not the same thing at all. In EP very few beings are pure any race by today's point of view. What you have spewed reminds me of some Southern Cracker talking about dem black fellows. Can a being that is basically part human having ancient fertility rites with another being that is only part human is a good question for bigots to berate about. To me if it fits go for it.

Baalbamoth: Gee, dude. You didn't get the memo? Every community, especially sufficiently large, will breed morally questionable stuff. Also, i doubt god hates stuff. Crusading against it, like the people on the nicely linked page is unproductive. I parted from that fandom long ago, for other reasons than zoosexuals (most of them use quite lunatic justifications anyway), but this is EP. And Uplifts are here. Naturally, a certain clientel will find its way into the game and play it just because of this. Ask every Werewolf the Apocalypse Player (hi there!). In EP we have the Mercurial faction for this. The important stuff is, that your belonging to certain cultures, doesn't make you want to rewrite the coresetting for everyone to fit your view of the world or personal likes. There are 100+ people in the world who enjoy EP for 100+ reasons. So lets enjoy it and leave that "Subculture X is the devil and destroys things by existing" shit.

a person who is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices; (I don't like people who want to rape animals, or children) especially : one who regards or treats the members of a group (as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance (I am intolerant of people who want to rape animals or children) yup guess that makes me an outstanding asshat bigot. don't poll the jury I confess to the charges. I got no problem with uplifts, as a game concept, as a character race, etc. your right to assume I have a problem with verts that are attracted to the game solely because of their sexual attraction to animals, and yeah I think because the uplifts are in EP were going to see furries playing it. If it ever annoys me enough I can happily create an in-game virus that kills all the uplifts and problem solved, and likewise the verts can combine "Maid" or "FATAL" or whatever gets their tails waggin.
