I don't think it shoehorns people into Firewall at all. There's a ton of other things to do. I personally find Firewall difficult as a campaign basis because a lot of stories don't merit their interest. It doesn't always have to be about the big stuff. What I like about Firewall, and why I suspect it is there, is that it gives a hook for getting players into transhumanity existential risk situations. You can ignore Firewall, you can use it for the occasitional "big story", or you can use it exclusively if you want. I really don't see the shoehorn.

I agree with smokeskin. I like the books as they are and will still buy HC of gatecrasher and rimward (the ones Im missing). I persoanlly would not buy a prehistory book, as I lik the setting as it is. I dont see a need to mess with this. I also dont see how the book shoehorns you into being a firewall character. Im starting a game and none of the PC's will be firewall - I will be starting them as "beta forks" of themselves! They have to find out what happenned to themselves and how they act determines if Firewall shows themselves to the PC's. I see firewall as having opportunities rather than shoehorning. It would be different if the book said you can be a member of a secret society and then didnt give details of firewalls motives, etc. But going the other way (the way they did) is much better and leaves scope to NOT be a part of firewall. Im much more excited to see what factions people join and if they will be hypercorp stooges or barsoomian farmers, or something else. There is so much scope in the books current incarnations! Well done guys. Dont change a thing. I much like the post by robboyle: http://eclipsephase.com/comment/33356#comment-33356 Id love to see this first!

Etcetera
Novels, novels, novels. A historical book would be nice although I do like how the game is pretty aloof about giving you precise dates. Starships. No, not a book about rules for starships, but a look at the drifters and normal folks who have been plying the space between the stations. Pilots, tradesman, etc.

I'd like to see one or more
I'd like to see one or more detailed station/city sourcebooks - each detailing one of the larger stations in depth, perhaps including an adventure set in the station/city in question. A space ship book would be interesting too.

my selection...
tech book with gear design INCLUDED (heavy military also included) or "living transhuman" long campaign book where we could send results in from registed players and have that change the campaign world from time to time in some way. would also like more info on extrasolar planets, possible fractions on the far ends of the Pandora gates.
"what do I want? The usual — hundreds of grandchildren, complete dominion over the known worlds, and the pleasure of hearing that all my enemies have died in highly improbable accidents that cannot be connected to me."

I'd like to see a strange
I'd like to see a strange/future gear book but on the other hand I don't want to bog down with hundreds of pages of gun stats. I'd love to see some adventures, especially if they're built off of the tidbits thrown around the various books. As for metaplot, meh, I'd only take and use what I like but if someone were writing a "cannon" campaign, it'd still likely have thing I like in it.
