What happen to xp when you merge (alpha) forks?
In case the tweet I sent to EP guys wasn't catched, I posted this question there first: http://rpg.stackexchange.com/questions/22818/what-happen-to-xp-when-you-... So that people searching get the info quickly. I'll report the question here: ----- This is a question asked on a french forum: http://www.black-book-editions.fr/forum/index.php?topic=3484.0 Let's say you have a fork (in particular, alpha fork) and you merge. The fork might have accumulated experience (moxie?). How does the experience merge? Are they just added together?

I would add them together
I would add them together (after all, merging is supposed to merge memories and that includes new skills). But since experience also makes brains different, I would also have a hefty penalty on the merge integration roll proportional to the amount of experience gained - sure, you can run off and try to parallel-study everything (a la Dr McNinja - http://drmcninja.com/archives/comic/17p21/ ) but your mental stability won't be very good afterwards. Which is of course even more fun.

On p.384 of the EP core rulebook, it states that rez points are awarded at the end of every story arc, at the break in the action between one adventure and the next. With that in mind it's more important what your character did during the course of the story arc than how different forks may have helped him accomplish those feats. So for example, if sending an alpha fork to investigate the abandoned space station helped the character accomplish his objective, the merged character gets a rez point. Basically whatever happened to the alpha fork while it was off doing its thing doesn't matter. What matters is what the character did, whether he had to fork and merge to get the job done or not.

In the Forking and Merging
In the Forking and Merging session there's always *some* amount of memory damage even on a successful merge roll if it has been longer than a week difference in subjective time between the forks. So if you wanted to inflict some sort of mechanical penalty you could base it on that if you wanted. As to the specific penalty there isn't one specifically laid out in game, so it would have to be at your discretion. A rez ding doesn't seem too overboard in my opinion.

I would probably add it. Most
I would probably add it. Most 'abuse' that one could do with forks is mitigated by the mere existence of mesh inserts.

This seems like an issue...
This seems like an issue that would be nicely addressed in the upcoming 'Transhuman' sourcebook. Additional details of how ego-handling technologies work, fleshed out by actual rules. That would settle a lot of debates, actually. Potentially, it could settle the one I started that has passed 110 posts and growing, regarding the metaphysics of consciousness and forking.
