I just realized it's possible to fly around cislunar space via Rocket pack! You don't even need a space ship. :D My question is; How would you bench mark the target numbers for Pilot and Navigation tests to do this. Delta V info; you can make it to orbit and land on Luna with a Rocket pack. (EP 345) Rocket Pack DV 3.2 km/s Luna surface to orbit; 1.6 km/s Lunar orbit to L1; .9 km/s Lunar orbit to L4/L5; .7 km/s Lunar orbit to Earth GEO; 2.3 km/s Earth GEO to L1; .4 km/s Earth GEO to L4/L5; 1.7 km/s

Also, if that was rated for a 80kg user plus a 40kg jetpack - what if the user of the jetpack was only 40kg? You would be at the edge of Mars escape velocity (5km/sec). P.S. I get 3.33 km/s based on Mars gravity of 3.711 m/s times 900 seconds?

Probably, the DV capacity of a rocket pack is more than 3.3 km/s. The fluff says it will keep the user airborne on mars for 15 minutes so presumably that would indicate moderate maneuver and altitude change as opposed to just hovering a meter off the ground. I use 3.2 because it's conservative and based off lunar high orbit at 1.6km/s I still have the question of how to set the target numbers for a character to fly from Luna to any of the lagrange points or GEO. Seems like a pretty epic stunt. I want to get my character his 15 minutes of fame.

Wasn't it said somewhere in the books that escaping the moons gravity well is easily done with a rocket pack for everybody and thats why smuggling is a bit easier on Luna?

What about the SAMAS? I've played rifts. It's a pretty fun game considering it's class/level and the system is a clusterfuck. Typically I played combat borgs.

How possible would it be to make something like that? Of course heavy armor is going to need heavy jets to push around, but is it even feasible to slap a fusion rocket to the back of a walking tank? Obviously there are more efficient scopes to wrap ones' head around but we did say Jet-Packs and that got my nerd going.

It's only possible to make the old school PA-06A (or the Sidewinder) armor in EP because all of the new style coalition power armor looks to goddamn stoopid to be in a game this cool ;) Part 1. Battle Suit (p. 344) Part 2. RailMachine gun (p. 336) part 3. Rocket Pack (p 345) I can't find my notes on this but I figured once that the rocket pack will be about the size of a large (3 tank) scuba rig and weigh about 50 kg. so double that size and increase the cost to Moderate, could give you equivalent performance with the battle suit. Part 4. Paint it black and add skulls and an awesome skull helmet!
