DTRPG: NPC File 1 P.O.D. Notice
Just saw a email on my phone about DTRPG's option to print up NPC File 1, and something about a discount code... ...and also a bit about an update to the file? My phone 'ate' the pair of emails, so I can't re-check the exact wording - has anyone else seen this? What was that about an update to the "File"? Does this mean that the pdf is also 'corrected'?

I assume you've probably seen
I assume you've probably seen the response in another thread, but yes, the PDF has been updated to reflect the latest errata. The coupon code was to give people who had previously purchased the PDF the opportunity to get the printed version at the same cost as if they'd purchased the PDF/print bundle.

Actually, I don't think I have/had seen any other notice about it here... Nevertheless, your confirmation that the document has been updated to 3rd+Errata stature is very much appreciated.

The PDF was updated; if you were signed up to receive email notices from DriveThruRPG when we update files (you should be!) you got an email about it. :-)

Yep, saw the update email - but per my OP, phone ate it as I was trying to read it. I did grab the update, but other than the "Intitiative Fix", what other kind of corrections were made?

There were a number of small stat block tweaks. Since no printed versions of NPC File 1 exist prior to the corrections being made, there's no corrections file available. Just chuck your old PDF out, replace it with the new one, and you're good to go. :)

Of course! That's part of our job as publishers... :)

How do we get our hands on
How do we get our hands on the new file? I am assuming we go to our downloads section at DTRPG and if re-downloaded the newer updated file is retrieved? Or do we need to go to the page for the product? Is there a printing note or some other indication in the file to show which version it is I am downloading? The reason I ask is that I am not up to date atm on what changes are present and would like avoid getting a new copy then going though the process of looking it over vs. the old one.

If you download the file from
If you download the file from DTRPG you should always get the newest one. Go into My Library up at the top, scroll down until you find Eclipse Phase: NPC File 1: Prime, you should see a date to the right of that. That is the last time it was updated. Fairly sure that the only way you can download the older file is by using the archive, so I wouldn't worry about it. Most of the recent changes applied can be found in the lower portion of http://eclipsephase.com/errata-npc-file-1-pdf this thread, if you want to make sure you have the newest version.

Visiting this URL will show you every title you've purchased on DriveThruRPG that has a new version available to you: http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/my_library.php?updated=1 NPC File 1: Prime is currently at Version 1.2, which is listed in the credits, updated on DriveThruRPG on 2012-09-07. So, you are very unlikely to have the new copy unless you've already intentionally downloaded it. :-)
