...also acceptable - a slim version of the current one. Maybe a cheat sheet?
I just find it to be a bit cumbersome.

That's so weird. If only because most complaints I've had so far is that it is too slim and simplified. The current system just doesn't easily model reputation mechanics.
Honestly, it's very tough. A modern-day reputation network is a fairly complex thing to represent, let alone one that is designed for transhuman economic needs. It's a very hard thing to reduce to its lowest common denominator.

First off, I would suggest giving your views of what you are finding cumbersome about it.
What exactly are the issues you are having, book keeping, managing or something else? Perhaps what you are looking to gain from a simpler system could be key in offering ideas you are looking for. People may even have ideas for areas that are giving your problems with the current system.
Right now, your request is a little vague for me to give a helpful response.

I can simplify it.
1) Raise Rep cost to 1 CP for 5 Rep; cut starting Rep in half.
2) Do not have different Rep Networks: each individual character has one central Rep Score.
3) Use Networking skills to seek out individuals like normal but all favors burn Rep.
There, simple. It has no soul and I personally wouldn't use it but it is simple.

In retrospect, I don't find it really a bad system. I personally gotta disagree with people who want more and more complex and simulationist systems for reputation - that way madness lies. :P
however, I just wish there was a nice cheat sheet for them. I hate having to look up the section in the book and scanning through every time a player wants to use their reputation.

After re-reading the rules a few times I've finished a cheat sheet. There we go. Not too hard. I was definitely inspired by Voidstate's sheet.
EDIT: Here it is. It's pretty awful. But the people who pointed out that the rep system isn't complex were right. Thanks for the help.

Re: Reputation System Replacements - Does anyone have any ...
It's not that most of us want true simulationist systems. We just want something that exhibits more of the traits that reputation systems are suppose to have. Eclipse Phase's reputation system is a bit more akin to a karma scale (you know, the sort that some games use to determine how good or evil your character is) combined with economic elements.
I agree though, the tough part is finding a way to make a system that is more akin to a real reputation system without getting so simulatory that it becomes a mathematical nightmare. It's a dilemma that's been plaguing me for a long time now. I'm still trying to work out alternative reputation mechanics, and I have been since the 2nd printing!

I would be very interested in seeing your alternatives. Socialization is such a complicated thing; I feel like maybe combining several different systems into one might be the way to go - but then the game can get bogged down with a bunch of different gears being manually moved.
