Getting rid of unwanted stuff etc.
Recently on another thread there was talk of a junkie (old fashioned drugs) Fury and how it isn't supposed to work under rules as written because of the Toxin Filter implant. That got me thinking what if an Ego who happens to inhabit a Fury morph would be addicted to a drug that doesn't work through Toxin Filters. Could the implant be removed? I think that the level of technology wouldn't be a problem here. That got me thinking of another thing I had noticed before and I investigated it more thoroughly this time: All pod morphs plus Reaper morph all have Puppet Socks installed. I can't imagine that any PC would want to live with one if given any chance. Also on pages 300-301, under Cyberbrain it is stated that Cyberbrains have built-in Puppet Socks installed. There are a lot of other morphs than Reapers and Pods that have a Cyberbrain. Do they also have built-in Puppet Socks, like gear section states or do only pods and reapers have them as per the character generation section? OK, suppose that someone could get access to equipment, know-how and willingness on how to remove those kindsof implants, what would it cost?

Hmm? I need to read up on the toxin filter (you can probably turn them off) but in the mean time, the mind and ego can still be infected by electronic stimuli.

I think you might be refering to my comment on another players character. It wasn't so much a statement of fact as my reading of the rules and a question about wether Furries can be addicted to a substance given that they have standard toxin filters. Because addiction can be an EGO trait, the answer is absolutely yes. But, the character with the chemical addiction and a furry morph probably can't get a fix and would suffer constantly from withdrawl. Removing an implant is probably a process of having medical tank nanites dismantle it and repair any damage left by it's absence. I would say that it requires the same tests, equipment, time and costs as implantation. edit: As to wether a puppet sock is a function of a cyber brain or an additional piece of gear that comes standard with the brain; I'd say it's an addition that can be removed, but I'm basing that entirely on the reasoning that puppet socks wouldn't need to be offered as an additional piece of gear if the ability was a function of the brain.

Mea Culpa: My mode of speech can make others feel uninvited to argue or participate. This is the EXACT opposite of what I intend when I post.
