The same has happened to me once or twice. Any chance on prodding sysop into adding a confirm button on the spam button?

I don't see a "report spam" button in the posts. There's a spam post in the Reputation and Trolls thread; it's post #7. http://eclipsephase.com/reputation-and-trolls Should I point the post out and say "this is spam. please delete?" Is that how it's supposed to be done?

The most annoying thing is that there *was* a "report spam" button once upon a time (hence the origin of this thread). Then the site got updated and it disappeared. In fact, that update felt generally as a downgrade in both function and aesthetics.

No, from what sysop has said in previous posts, the old 'report spam' button was extremely poorly implemented, and so was removed. At this point, our options as regular users basically consist of 'wait until sysop or someone else with permission to delete posts/shut down accounts notices and deals with the spammer.'

I have a deliberate hands-off approach to these forums. I squash spam and take care of trouble threads, but otherwise I stay out of things. The policy here is to keep things very loose and easy-going, so things might get heated. But if this means your first response is to flag someone's comment as spam, then you'd best reconsider that. This is a place for discussion, not for silencing the opinions of people you don't agree with. If someone's trolling you, walk away. Don't feed the trolls. In other words, EVERYONE KNOCK IT THE FUCK OFF. YOU WILL GET YOUR ASS BANNED. This is my final warning. Next time anyone does this, they're getting shitcanned.

First, the reply you are quoting is dated before the whole feminist/anti-feminist yelling match had started. So I think not. Second, I'm not impressed that you feel the need to bring this topic up again. It seems like many people in that thread where trying to prove the "correctness" of their side, with total disregard to the search of the truth of the matter.
