Character creation...I don't get it.
I am trying to make a Psi Infiltrator/Investigator. The basic concept is that he can infiltrate both in the normal sense and in the social sense, blending into crowds both high and low. If I have points left over I will also turn him into a hacker so he can be a digital thief as well but until that point I will just have our groups hacker run shotgun and get him into the system while I watch his back. So I am still trying to get the hang of this system and I have yet to figure out certain things like What is the link between skills and stats. In DnD they gave a bonus, in Shadowrun you added the two to make your dice pool, etc. How do they link here? If I want to add implants to my first morph (a ghost type) how does that effect it's cost both in money and CP. Does it effect the cost? If not then how about in game after Chargen? If I want a custom morph with specific implants how would that effect its final cost? Is it all up to the GM? Me and my GM talked about me making my own sleights. I didn't see any directions for this so I was wondering if it was going to be done would it be just like the learning a new sleight test just a bit longer since I am making my own? When I am down with my character I plan on posting it here to make sure I went through the whole process correctly since quite frankly I don't get some of it. Till then answers to these would be awesome. Thank you in advance.

Your skill is bought up from a base of "stat." I.E. You have a SAV of 20. Your networking skill starts at 20 until you spend Rez on it. Spend 10 Rez, you have Networking 30. If your Morph raises your stat, it raises all associated skills too.

For your ghost, it's strictly a matter of money, during or after chargen. For a custom morph, ask your GM. However, I'd rule that if you're making a custom morph, implants beyond the basic three would probably cost money just because you aren't getting the morph off the rack. After chargen, anything morph-related is -strictly- money and doesn't cost Rez at all, ever (aside from the Rez spent on getting the money or the rep to get the morph, of course).

It'd probably be about the same, though be careful with custom sleights. Make sure your GM knows what's possible within the realm of psi-chi and psi-gamma; psi-epsilon sleights are not PC-available. (They're in the spoiler section so I won't say more unless asked.)

Ahh alright gotcha. Thanks for the help. Now I have a few more questions. I don't think I explained myself correctly with the cost thing. I see no set costs. All it says are low, moderate, etc. and the table saying what these prices usually are. If these are the usual price but not the set price how does one determine what the final cost is? He does and we did go over the epsilon sleights so don't worry about that.

In character creation you trade customization points for credit and then spend that credit on gear. If the end of the last paragraph in the gear listing says: Trivial, = 50 credits Low = 250 moderate = 1000 high = 5000 expencive = 10000+ so basicaly you pay the average cost of what the gear would cost in game. Clear as mud? check the table on page 296 if you havn't found it so far. The real trick is getting your GM to let you use the cost modifiers at character creation by writing a really cool backstory ;)
