Absolutely! We have several more printed books in the work, even more electronic-only titles on the go, and we're working on converting our electronic titles into more formats as well. Plenty of stuff going on behind the scenes for Eclipse Phase right now, to be on store shelves later this year!

What about DeGenesis? Any 2012 news about this game???
GreyBrother GreyBrother's picture
Re: EclipsePhase 2012
Since the original DeGenesis Team let the game more or less slide, i don't expect much about it. Hopefully, this will change, but i had this hope for the last few years. Another possibility would be, that DeGenesis wanders fully to PHS, but thats much more improbable.

Re: EclipsePhase 2012
That would be a shame since the English translation is done with the Primer Edition. Well I got a mail from Posthuman Studios that there would be news of release and info in the beginning of this year, and though we technically still are in the beginning I can't help but feel a bit distraught (with nothing happening on http://degenesisrpg.com and all).

Heh Amazon lists Rimward as being available on Eclipse Feb 15, 2012, but I don't think that is highly likely. I am bit worried since we haven't heard about it for some time now...

Amazon recently changed that, it was listed as a 12th of Feb release. Never trust amazon dates.

I think the internet has ruined Fandom patience. Dev blogs, Tweets and Facebook have spoiled us. As fans on a regular basis we scour social sites, forums and browsers for any mention of our favorite games and writers. I think updates help keep fans feeling engaged and involved on the edge of there seats for the next release. (Not that rabid fans don't do that without regular info.) Companies vary but a majority have a regular info schedule regarding their product and releases. (Even if not mentioning dates.) Monthly, Weekly or in case of at least one company daily info. PS for the most part has a total blackout policy till release dates can be mentioned. So please forgive us the Fan for being persistent when seeking info even in the face of repeated explanations of policy. On a side note EP is a quality product that shows how much work does go into it. I think I speak for all EP fans when I say we do appreciate that.

I definitely want to echo that. I've seen plenty of products ruined by 'rushing to the shipping date'. I'd rather wait a little longer, thank you :) And not to toot my own horn (toot toot!) but don't forget we are still getting fresh EP content via The Eye. Please feel free to pitch the "I'd really like to see this" that way and we will see what we can do.

And we are all active blogging, tweeting, posting to Facebook, G+, etc ... "ruining fandom patience" :) in that respect. We just have a list of things we don't talk about until we have formal information about them, and one of them is release dates. Because it benefits _nobody_ to build hype about something that doesn't have a distinct "it's available on X" date attached to it. It would be bonzo-gonzo awesome if we could manage a release schedule where announcements and releases were predictably timed (A book a quarter, an electronic release a month, for example) but we aren't there yet. Until then, there will be periods of quiet, while we're busy working, and then there will be periods of announcements/previews/etc. when all that hard work pays off. We are in an _unusually_ long period of quiet, as our workloads have all changed, in part due to our parting ways with Sandstorm last year, and in part due to the ebbs and flows of our personal lives. We are only two full-timers, after all. :-)

I seem to recall that White Wolf used to try to put hard release dates on books and sometimes they would make them and sometimes they would not make it. It just made people crazy, so they stopped putting release dates one some books. I don't blame you guys at all, even if everything is lined up I can imagine that even with a release date, things can go wrong as well. I'm just glad you guys are putting books out period. Only two full time developers? I thought you guys had a three man team.

Brian is only part-time, as he has another full-time job. He's still involved in all the decision-making, but he's not able to write/edit as much as we'd like right now.

Tis true, I'm only half the man (dev?) that Adam and Rob are. But I still try! (To clarify I'm a full time tenure line professor of Criminology and Sociology so between teaching, service requirements, and research there is no way I could be considered anything close to full time for Posthuman)

It will be available through DriveThruRPG and their Print on Demand program; we'll be announcing it soon. So much to get done right after Gen Con! :)

Yes; I'm working on the backlog of PDF-only titles (they require some tweaks to be PODable) and future releases that would have been electronic-only will now be electronic+POD in most cases (there may be exceptions, of course...)

Just put Rimward on pre order
Just put Rimward on pre order at Amazon and already have the PDF from Drivethru/RPGNow. I am also glad to hear your offering up POD options as well. I do have a question about them, though. If I decide to ever order POD will the physical looks of these POD books match up with your normal print run? I strongly suspect the answer is "No." but ask in case you can shock me. Will they have the ribbon page markers? (Sorry, I have become spoiled by them.)

POD is not up to the same standards as offset printing, most notably in terms of the paper stock available and some of the additional options, such as the ribbon bookmarks we use. At this point, we are only using POD for titles that are not getting a traditional print run. This may change in the future as we need to reprint books that were originally printed offset but don't have a strong enough stream of sales to justify investing $10K in another full print run.

Hi,
Hi, I have purchased the Rimward PDF, and have read on these excellent forums about a pre-order now being available for the print version, from Amazon.com. Living over in Blighty, I would prefer to order it from Amazon.co.uk - is it going to be available to purchase from UK retailers? Thanks

Yes. Amazon.co.uk buys EP titles from the same distributor in the UK that most gaming stores do, so they'll have it around the time other gaming stores do. We'll be announcing the Street Date shortly!

Players' Guides
It's good to have books like this so one can give info to players without spoilers, such as at the end of the core book. Fortunately, I'll be running the game.

Transhuman isn't "The core book, minus GM-specific stuff" -- that would be lame! :) It's additional materials that is player-focused, including alternate character generation rules, some new morphs, guidelines for some of the more esoteric character types, etc.

My apologies!
Sounds like something much more substantial than these things usually are. Btw, noting that you're one of the people (I think?) who helped create Shadowrun - in 1989, I participated in a session of SR that had no less than 30 player characters running at once. It was basically a party masquerading as a session of SR.

All of us at Posthuman worked
All of us at Posthuman worked on Shadowrun in one form or another at various times; Rob Boyle as line developer/writer/editor/game designer from 2001-2008 (and assistant line developer for several years before that, in the last days of FASA), myself as a sporadic writer/editor/game designer/line developer, but mostly as a graphic designer from 2005-2010, and Brian Cross as a writer/editor during Rob Boyle's tenure as line developer.

That would be much more likely to go in a book that is more GM-focused -- and may end up in the Firewall book.
