New Sleights and Psi Rules
Version 1 is attached. I need some feedback, and if you have any ideas, tell me about them. So far I'm tipping it more toward a "softer" balance, so that Psi isn't as mind-rending as in the book. It still requires sacrifice, but mostly it's meant to add flavor to the mythos. If you want the TeX source, shoot me a PM. Sources for inspiration: Toaru Majutsu no Index CthulhuTech Dungeons and Dragons X-men

Re: New Sleights and Psi Rules
My first thought was lower some of these numbers. The rail gun sleight and celeritas are the first that come to mind as way overpowered. Under the psychic knife what's DB DV? Otherwise solid stuff. I've used something akin to Borg for a villain async in my game but it was limited in that the person had to be indoctrinated over a period of time. This would be done by stealing a fork, sleaving them, putting them through the process, and then have it merge with the original. Quite the end game when a couple of the teammates turned on each other due to being indoctrinated.

DB is listed on the character sheets as DUR divided by 10. Usually a DB is used for melee attacks, but I *do* have a SOM/5 bonus on it already. I'm rolling back Celeritas a bit (the idea was to make them move really fast). I think that with all the limitations - low initial damage (a little bit less now), chance of dissipation, high initial investment (a whole Action Turn!), complete vulnerability during charging, etc. - Railgun is fairly balanced as a kind of psychic artillery. I think a couple other of the new sleights need adjustment, though... like, say, Psi Breaker. I think that needs to be nerfed just a little. I'm running a game on Friday, hopefully I'll get to test some of these.

Maybe, i guess it would have to actually used to see. On another note regarding it though is the heat created would completely destroy most things. As in there wouldn't be an aerodynamic slug heading towards the target but a super heated stream that would maybe have like a 1/4 of the range. If it is to work properly they would need the proper equipment. As in items designed to withstand such heat.

Some of this stuff looks pretty cool, a bit of it though I'm not so sure about (which is what is great about a game, there is room for everyone). Personally I'm going to go in a similar direction but I'm going to keep psi rather low key, adding 2 more levels of psi above the Exsurgent Omega to include Psycho-metabolic sleights and Telekinetic sleights. Both of these can be gleaned at level 1 and level 2 Psi respectively but I don't think I'll have such powerhouse sleights such as the rail-gun style sleight given to PC's, only because I see Psi power developing in such a pupal stage in the human genome. Overall though man, this is some really creative stuff. I think I might have to post more of my jazz to see what people think, I've got volumes.

Re: New Sleights and Psi Rules
What about using Kinetic Control or Casimir Control to deflect incoming projectiles? I cant think of a valid example in tv or anime. So I'll attempt to explain. Say someone is shooting at you, so you produce a field of (Either one) that produces an instantaneous effect, but only on one side of the projectile thereby deflecting it by pulling or pushing it away from in front of you. Effectively creating a wedge or cone shaped shield in front of you to defend against kinetic rounds. Perhaps even plasma rounds considering they have a kinetic force to them.
