Setting EP during the Fall?

Setting EP during the Fall?
So I have already seen a thread about setting EP before the Fall. So why not set a scenario during the Fall? At the very least I could imagine a very tense scenario as the characters try desperately to reach the evacuation point alive, sans Titan Infections. It could be a very good introductory mission for a suite of PCs, and a ripe reason for their induction into Firewall. They could then spend a few missions investigating the Titans, saving egos regarded as of pivotal importance by Firewall, saving their loved ones/dependents, etc. What are your thoughts? Could you see any disadvantages to setting EP in the Fall?

Besides total party kill implications. No, it would be very interesting. How would you handle backgrounds is my question?

Due to the implied 95% chance of fatality amongst transhumans during the Fall you could still have fun by living with the odds. Set up a short scenario where the players are very very likely to die in a very spectacular and/or tragic fashion (barring uncanny luck with the dice and/or superb roleplay). You could then jump forward to AF 10 for your main story and either use backups of the deceased PC's, or have the characters that died during the fall be important to the actions of the future PC's in some way. You could also pull a situation where the main campaign story begins and the PC's that died duringn the fall are waking up in fresh new morphs having been backed up and resleeved. No biggie right?...only they all remember their deaths as if their cortical stack had been retreived...dun dun DUN. Insert exsurgent infection possibilities, hard sci-fi space magic, or any other cause for this you desire. TLDR; In my opinion setting a short scenario during the Fall is very interesting for story telling. However, trying to squeeze out a lengthy campaign and somehow buck the odds of 95% chance of eating a bullet or dying horribly...may be a bit left of center regarding the setting as written. As always YMMV.

Re: Setting EP during the Fall?
My personal idea was more in line with it being a good introduction to the setting rather than a setting for a persistant campaign by itself. In my mind it would quickly introduce the idea of the Titans being bad, resleeving and backups (after their inevitable deaths), Firewall (their recruitment) and more whilst also allowing for a set of interesting plot hooks, i.e. did my wife survive the fall, etc. The one problem I find with introducing EP to my players is that the setting is rather dense and hard to grasp when compared to, let's say, more "contemporary" sci-fi settings.
