Maybe this is something else besides the PDF, I don't know. I am not too tech savvy. What is going on is when I scroll too fast through my copy of EP in PDF, the text all changes to a number etter code that is unintelligible.
Anyone else having this happen to them. I have to restart the PDF again and then a little while later it will happen again. I am pretty sure i have the most recent version of acrobat.

Re: EP digital Copy Issues?
I've seen this happen when my system was low on memory. Adjusting the display view size of the PDF by 1% in any direction fixed it immediately.

Re: EP digital Copy Issues?
Yeah I figured out it is doing it also when I re-size the view, and it can sometimes be tricked back to readable format. The thing is I was only using about 40-50% of my 6 gigs of RAM, so I don't know if it would be a memory issue. I am pretty tech ignorant though so I guess that's it. Could I maybe re download the file ir is it something that's just going to keep happening? I don't know if running into this problem during play will help out my games too much, LOL.
Thanks for the reply and help on this btw.

Re: EP digital Copy Issues?
It is a fairly common Reader bug, it doesn't seem to be the PDF file specifically. And I cannot imagine that its a RAM issue, happens to me on 16gig. You can either push through it and ignore it, or just download a different PDF reader program and use it instead.
Might I suggest Sumatra. Very lightweight, does just fine (Although it doesn't do things like layers very well.)

Re: EP digital Copy Issues?
What problem I encounter with the digital copy is that several pictures are missing when I read it on my ipad, even if downloaded directly from drivethru on my ipad. the ibook reader is up to date.

Re: EP digital Copy Issues?
I don't have an IPad, but I heard that same complain from several people regarding other .pdf documents. It seems to be some sort of problem with the IPad. Also, I have an android tablet, and when I tried to load the game Deathwatch (from the Warhammer 40k franchise, published by Fantasy Flight Games) all of the images weren't being shown in the reader I used (but thanks to that, the document was quite light for the tablet).
I think your best bet is to use a tablet-oriented copy without the images, or a copy without layers where all the page is a single image.

Re: EP digital Copy Issues?
Probably just iBooks, although saying that I just looked through my third printing PDF and it was just fine. Can you give a page reference for the issue? Might I also suggest you download the Goodreader app, especially if you are on an iPad 2. It's rendering is vastly superior to iBooks', much faster in general.

Re: EP digital Copy Issues?
my ipad is the first one, about eight months old.
Will I be able to read all the books and pdf I have uploaded on my pad with that app?
Aside of my complete EP collection, I have all of my Pathfinder, Transhuman Space and Shadowrun on it, plus several other novels (all the Kim Harrison's Hollows series, Mass Effect novels, Hutchins series by McDevitt, and on and on...)

Re: EP digital Copy Issues?
It isn't a big deal for me, but I've downloaded v.3 of the Core book from DriveThru twice and on both d/ls the Mesh chapter-heading pages (pp.234-5) come up black with the following message from Adobe Reader:
"An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person who created the PDF document to correct the problem."
This is on Windows XP on two different systems, not on an iPad.
But since all I'm missing is whatever cool art was meant to be there and the 'chapter header' links, I don't sweat it too much, since I pretty much have the page #s for hacking memorized anyway.

Re: EP digital Copy Issues?
Yeah, I have that same issue with the mesh chapter, using Acrobat.
And Windows 7.

Re: EP digital Copy Issues?
Hey all,
Sorry for getting to this topic late; Gen Con time keeps us crazy busy.
When diagnosing PDF problems, please email me directly at adam at posthumanstudios.com -- including what OS you use, what PDF reader you use (the exact version number), and any other relevant technical data.
I know there are a couple of pages in the 3rd printing PDF that some older versions of Acrobat Reader don't like, but updating to the newest versions (Acrobat Reader X) solved that issue for everyone I've spoken to about it.
I haven't, before now, heard of any iPad issues, and I've been using the document on my iPad without noticing any of them myself.
But please, if you encounter issues, do email me, and I will do my best to make things right.
