My brand new Sunward book just arrived in the mail. But the last few pages seems misprinted. Is this how all Sunward book are? or did I just happen to get a Lemon?

The rest of the book, as far as I can tell, are fine though.

Re: is my book defective?
OK, so good news and bad news. It depends how you look at it. I went and had a look at my copy (For the first time in like, six months... Go iPad?) and all the sample character pages are like yours, slightly too high for the page with a red bar at the bottom. Now the bad news is that your Runner Techie is better looking than mine. The bad news is that your Triad Soldier is worse looking than mine.
So from our sample size of two it seems to be how you look at it. You don't have a lemon copy, but it is slightly defective. In that its possible the entire print run is defective.
(In other, positive news, it looks like my meditation is working! I felt no anxiety at all with having my book have a minor fault, which is a big up from last year when anything at all made me feel anxious as all hell. Aren't anxiety disorders fun?)

Re: is my book defective?
Ok Cool. If they are all like this then I have no problem with it :)
If mine is just happen to be a defective copy then I was going to exchange it for an normal one.
It is still readable so its fine. Bought the book to support the IP anyways.
Thanks for the help.

Re: is my book defective?
Oh dear. I know this isn't helpful at all, but I decided I better double check because I don't want you be misled by misinformation. I put my copy up against the monitor with your image and the PDF side by side, and I am afraid to say that you might indeed have a lemon. Yours is noticeably worse off than mine when you compare them directly.
Did you happen to buy it from a physical store? Is there anyway you could go and have a look at a different copy and see? Hopefully one of the other regulars will be around shortly and can help you out more.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news :(
Edit: Reread post, saw you got it in the mail. Fiddles. Again, calling all forum regulars, your opinions?

Re: is my book defective?
Someone [url=http://www.eclipsephase.com/gatecrashing-and-sunward-minor-complaints-ab... a while ago that the binding on their Eclipe Phase splatbooks broke very easily. I'm starting to think that Posthuman Studios just picked a shitty printing service.

Re: is my book defective?
Our printer has a tolerance for error (a few millimeters), and your books look to be within that tolerance. Their variance does seem to be a bit higher than the previous printer we used ... next time we print a book with sample characters, I'll consider nudging the text down a little. But I'm personally a fan of that style and don't think it impacts usability in a major way.

Re: is my book defective?
We've sold thousands of books that were printed at that particular printer, and had perhaps a dozen that were deemed 'defective' -- which we have all replaced at our own expense.
Printing is a mechanical process; there will be defects in every print run.

Re: is my book defective?
I got mine on Amazon.com.
I also got the GM a copy of the book as well, so I'll just compare mine to his when we meet up on the weekend.
If his is error free then I'll just get a replacement from Amazon. No reason to keep an imperfect copy when there are perfectly normal copies out there.
But just to emphasize the book reads fine. The error is just very minor. This kind of problem seem more prounced for online stores. I would assume that physical stores actually check their stock as they put it on the shelf, and online stores just directly ships the package they receive from the shipper without inspection.
I have had this kind of cutting problem on 2 books (not Eclipse Phase books) in the last 3 month.

Re: is my book defective?
As I said, we wouldn't consider this copy defective. There is a tolerance in both directions for cutting. It is, IMO, "perfectly normal," just like I'm perfectly normal at 5'9" and Rob is perfectly normal at 5'10" :-)

Re: is my book defective?
Both my copies have the top-text-cut-off issue as well. I don't consider it a problem compared to say, the book starting to fall apart >.<
And I hate to say it but the problem is reoccurring on my replacement copy of Sunward. The pages are starting to detach from the cloth-spine thingy that it was glued on. :/
Bah. Maybe it's a tropical climate thingy or I really abuse my books (but in comparison the corebook still holds up fine despite it being handled much more often than all the supplements combined)

Re: is my book defective?
I have seen the same characteristic on my book since I bought it and always seen it as a design decision, never bothered my reading and also goes off the normal concept of straight boxed sheet on most RPG's ... exctly what I expected from Eclipse Phase!
In fact knowing that this design can be a print mistake steal a little of the charm ... but just a little :)
