EP at Origins 2011
Didn't get any feedback on the General board so I thought I'd try asking here. Are there going to be any Eclipse Phase events at Origins 2011? The event listing for Origins went up this past weekend, but didn't include anything. However, I wouldn't be surprised if the listing is currently incomplete.

Re: EP at Origins 2011
I am not aware of any EP presence at Origins this year. However, Brian put out a post just recently saying they're looking for people to represent. Drop him a line and maybe you can get paid to GM! How awesome is that?

Unfortunately, I was hoping to get my first opportunity to play EP at Origins.

Re: EP at Origins 2011
We thought we had a deal set up with a group to run 4-5 games at Origins this year but it appears as though something fell through somewhere. I'm trying to track down details currently. Believe me, we want people to play our games!

Re: EP at Origins 2011
Just got back; it was confusing as hell, actually. Posthuman was listed as being at booth 704; which turned out to be part of Sandstorm's booth (makes sense). I could swear there was even an ad for Eclipse Phase somewhere, either in the program or one of the paste-up posters in/near the convention hall (maybe because Sunward was nominated for an Origins Award?). But then when you went there, there was no Eclipse Phase to be seen, and nobody seemed to know anything at all about it. One of the Cthulutech guys said "yeah, I think they are selling some of the books over at the Indie Press RPG booth or something?" Basically, zero presence. So if you went over to the Indie Press booth, they were selling it... sort of. The bottom rack of one of their shelves had Sunward, the GM Screen thing, and maybe Gatecrashing? But no core rulebook. No Eclipse Phase sessions got ran that I know of, either. (I did at least manage to get into a Dread session and an Unknown Armies session, which were both pretty sweet.)

I wonder if this has anything to do with the publishing issues at Sandstorm and the downsizing? The blog entriesabout the Origins Award pointed folks to the Indie Press Revolution for folks interested in EP and not the Sandstorm booth. Oh and +Unknown Armies. Great game, love it to death.

Re: EP at Origins 2011
Yeah, I ran into basically the same thing, lots of time and searching before I could find out who was selling books (and where they were). Finally got Sunward though, and am reading it. Was hoping to play for the first time, but that is how it goes. The Con was still awesome anyway. I had a bit of confusion with the "fast play" area. I had read that people there would be running quickie demos of the games that were up for Origins awards, but was never able to pin down anyone on what they were running, or when, or even if.

Re: EP at Origins 2011
Yeah, to confirm the other reports, no EP presence in the Sandstorm area. Half the Sandstorm area seemed to have been given up to other retailers, or the booth map was wrong. No EP events that I saw. The free play area was near impossible to find, tucked away in the back of one of the halls somewhere. One of the other indie game companies that was there was going to make use of it, until they found out where it was, and gave up on that idea. This seemed to be a year when Origins was badly organized. Everything was heavily broken up, with the big board game area in one remote corner of the con, and all the RPG stuff tucked away at the other end. The printed event book was missing key information like 'game system' or in some cases had wrong event times.
