I was reading about the Lost generation - how they were all killed or in hiding and the social stigma surrounding them. Since they were all sleeved into futara morphs it seems like after a brief glance or short contact or perhaps under any scrutiny other than genetic testing they may not be immediately recognizable as a futara morph?
So that makes me wonder if human modified morphs are indistinguishable from a "normal" (using that term loosely) looking human except for obvious examples like the remade and the mentons? Slyphs are obviously going to stand out because of there exceptional attractiveness but other than that would it makes sense that most human-esque morphs all look basically like normal 20th century folks physically?
Thoughts?
EDIT: Based on the pre-gen pic in the Core and the pre-gen pic in the quick start it looks like Ruster morphs have red skin? I'm assuming that the tribalish patterns/tattoos on them and on the ghost morph are purely cosmetic alterations - as in the morphs don't come off the shelf that way.

Re: Biomorphs recognizable by sight?
The Futura morphs are basically slightly modified Exalts, which means they're prettier, stronger, healthier, and smarter than a baseline human being, but recognizable on sight? That's a tricky thing. Human beings are a pretty diverse bunch.
That said, there is a consideration and counter-consideration there; the Lost's faces are likely all on file, as is their DNA, which means that anyone looking for them can identify their morph. However, this is Eclipse Phase; changing your face and even DNA isn't immensely difficult, as is changing your body. Just because you can recognize a Futura morph doesn't mean one of the Lost is inhabiting it, and ego IDs can be forged and brainwaves changed through psychosurgery to make ego hunting very difficult.
As such, I'd say that most people can't recognize a Futura on sight, no.

Re: Biomorphs recognizable by sight?
I know that one of the fluff characters knew he was in a Fury just by seeing the hands, right?

Re: Biomorphs recognizable by sight?
He guessed he was in one and then from all the battle scars assumed a worn out one. I think eventually the mesh inserts would come online and inform him of exactly what kind of morph he was sleeved in. I let people with Morph Design knowledge skill to roll and see if they recognize anything about the persons body that would inform them of what kind of morph it is but beyond that I think only a handful are really recognizable.

That's what I got from the story (Lack) too.
I think that a morph design roll is a good way to handle it for most morphs except for the obvious ones like rusters, remade, mentons and others that show obvious differences. Consider that stolen!

*shrug* My point is that he indeed guessed he was in a Fury, apparently based on sight.

Re: Biomorphs recognizable by sight?
Ya but when you look at the Fury picture it looks like a plain human and in the story he guessed nothing told him it was a Fury. Maybe it's not the appearance that makes him know he's in one. Maybe it's the feel. The body moves in a familiar way that anyone who regularly uses a Fury would recognize.
Oh ya I know most of those would be obvious. But what about the menton? What gives them away?—

Re: Biomorphs recognizable by sight?
My mistake for some reason I thought they had slightly enlarged craniums but it appears I was either filling in the blanks on the rumors of the super mentons or thinking of the remade's because looking over it again there doesn't seem to be anything under the menton description that would make me think they look like anything other than a 'normal' person.

Re: Biomorphs recognizable by sight?
I think he inferred it based on his job and the fact that his morph was female. The fury is likely the only morph type where it's rare to get a male model... so he probably figured that if Firewall didn't pay to get him a male body, it was probably because he needed a fury.
