Wielding two weapons
So I want to make myself a gun totting, hard-bitten Martian cowboy, a necessary part of which is, of course, wielding two pistols. Unfortunately, that paragraph of using two weapons is rather vague and I'm not 100% on the specifics.

Does this mean that I can fire each semi-automatic weapon twice (for a total of four shots per complex action)? Can I fire two bursts? One full auto spray per weapon? If so, I can see the value, you pay a higher base cost (two weapons + accessories) you get less DV/AP for each shot, but you get to make a great deal more of them. If not then wielding two pistols seems vastly less effective than wielding an Automatic rifle or Sniper. Thanks in advance...

Re: Wielding two weapons
If my reading is correct, the answer is yes, but each weapon after the main hand one suffers a cumulative -20. So, for your normal human, you would be able to fire your main hand weapon however you like with no extra penalty, and the off hand weapon however you like with a -20 on the roll, but both weapons have to fire at the same target. An octomorph could theoretically fire 8 pistols at the same target, but the negatives get a bit absurd after a bit, with the 8th pistol coming in at -160 to hit ;)

I agree with you basically. If you must spend 1 of 2 fires that one Complex Action allows for each weapon, you can fire only two weapons. But the rule says about forth shot. So I intepret you can. But you can fire 8th shot with only -140 modifier, since it is 7th off-hand weapon. And Ambidextrous Trait is a great (too great?) one for 8-guns-Octomorph. Take it 5 times (at 50 CP) and you can fire 6 guns as usual, 7th gun (1st off-hand weapon) at -20 and 8th gun (2nd off-hand weapon) at -40.

Pretty expensive for that purpose. :) You just blew 100% of your positive trait allowance, and a nice chunk of your 'free' CPs. It's not too bad to take once, though, if moar dakka is your goal.

So the ruling is that you can fire each weapon as many times as if you were firing it on its own?

Yes. Each weapon may be fired twice in single or burst fire mode, or once in full auto when firing multiple weapons at the same time. The only real problem is that each weapon after the first takes a cumulative -20 penalty. Each ambidexterity trait allows you to ignore one -20 penalty.
