Miniatures For EP
I confess, I'm a miniatures nerd and I do like to use minis in my RPGs. So I've been keeping my eyes open for any figures that would fit the the EP. Of the top of my head I can only think of one line of minis that fit the setting: Infiniy from Corvus Belli (http://www.infinitythegame.com/infinity_ENG/). Can anyone think of any other lines I'm missing?

Nice miniature line and some
Nice miniature line and some of them fit I wonder if some of the reaper or something would work just as well ?

Reaper has some good stuff in
Reaper has some good stuff in their Chronoscope line. I had also forgotten about the old Void line. The Syntha and VASA factions fit EP very well. While they are not as commonly used for RPGs, there is some really nice stuff coming out in 15mm for sci-fi; Rebel Minis, Ground Zero Games, Critical Mass, etc. You don't need as much space on the table or to store the figs. Despite the smaller size, they don't take as long to paint. You can purchase a lot more for the money.

I'd suggest the Infinity line
I'd suggest the Infinity line of minis from Corvus Belli. The game has a strong transhuman and post cyberpunk vibe to it and the minis would really fit the bill. Some of the combined (aliens) would make for good ETI or TITAN minis. Here is the link to their site: http://www.mayasphere.net/infinity_ENG/ Pretty much everything would work. Even the low-tech faction (Ariadna) would be good for stuff from the Jovian Junta. The other human factions contain minis for use as everything from synth-morphs (lots of power-suited or artificial units that fit the bill) and there are plenty of possibilities for other morphs (including some with interesting body-sculpting, like the cat-girl :p). The Combined has some odd minis for more out-their transhumans as well as several interesting designs, including something useful as a slitheroid (med-tech obsidian). All the minis are incredibly dynamic and overall they fit the flavour of the source material beautifully.

If things around here aren't working, it's because I'm laughing so hard.

Minis...
Rackham's AT-43 line has some ok minis. I'm fond of the mechs. No way I'd pay full price though. Urban Mammoth's Urban War and Metropolis lines are pretty good. Go with Syntha, Viridians, and VASA. Then there's Abberant game's Rezolution line. It's mostly hit or miss. Their drones are pretty cool. Next would be Copplestone Casting's Future Wars line. Infinity is definitely the most obvious choice, it's also the most expensive. Gotta love imported minis.

Re: Miniatures For EP
I know this thread is old but from talking to other players I know I'm not the only one still looking for minis and this thread helped a lot so I thought I would throw my own finds in here to help out. These guys do some good 15mm but why I really like em is because they're dirt cheap for a bunch. I need most of these minis to show the enemy and I only want highly detailed fancy ones when the enemy is special in some way. http://khurasanminiatures.tripod.com/15mmscifi-infantry.html I've been wondering if anyone find any minis that could be used for an octomorph. They aren't the easiest thing to find it seems.

Re: Miniatures For EP
root@Minatures for EP
I don't expect EP to have official miniatures until 3D printers are common enough that they can sell the blueprints rather than the whole piece. It can be done now, but you have to make the 3D figure in something like AutoCAD or Blender, and then rent some time on a printer. They end up being fairly expensive at the moment at maybe $30 or so per figure. Price would drop some if you were printing in bulk, but even then the price is an order of magnitude too large to be really viable, and two orders of magnitude too large to compete with the current figurine market from a seller's point of view. All of those market limitations being beside the point to the futurist in me, 'cause I wants 'em now.

Re: Miniatures For EP
Shapeways does 3D printing, with rates of $1.50/cm^3 for a plastic figure. You can often shave off some price by making things strategically hollow - they only charge you for the plastic they have to fuse, so long as they don't think you're trying to rip them off. (Making a giant hollow ball with no way for the unfused plastic powder to fall out would be frowned upon.) Shapeways has a $25 minimum order, but judging by the price of this 39mm miniature, that would get you 5-6 plastic miniatures. There are options to get stainless steel models, but I think the resolution isn't as good, and it costs $10/cm^3.

root@Minatures for EP
mds, you win. I'll have to make use of this once I get the time to build some models. I'll have to check and see what their maximum dimensions are. mds @-rep++

Re: Miniatures For EP
The max dimensions of the regular white plastic are 31x25x20cm. Other materials might have greater or smaller maximum dimensions. White detail, for instance, has max dimensions of 49x39x20cm. You can go to the materials page and click on 'More details' to learn the upper limit on dimensions for different materials. It's the last entry in the sidebar on the right.

Surprised that http://www.antenocitisworkshop.com/ hasn't been mentioned. I want to get some of the scenery to use in some Dwarven Forge SciFi sets.

You could always take the .stl files down to your local hackerspace or fablab and run them off in ABS plastic (assuming that the former has a RepRap or Makerbot or the latter actually exists in your area, as appropriate). The .stl's could also be uploaded to Thingiverse so that all of us could run them off. ... Yes, I want an octomorph mini.

Re: Miniatures For EP
root@Miniatrues for EP
I was planning on using the Engineering shops fab machines if I made anything, yea. There seem to be some added costs from shipping things in from the Netherlands that I could avoid. Plus it's always fun to give them an odd design to print out. "You want a what now?"

If anyone around here had the CAD knowledge to pull that off it would be greatly appreciated. Think we should ask around for it?

I was going to start asking around HacDC (and hopefully get a Friday night game going there) after Shmooocon is over. We have a couple of 3D printers running down there and a few members are good with 3D modeling.

If they did it that would be amazing. I would gladly reimburse them for their time.

Re: Miniatures For EP
I've been thinking of using less iconic figures from the Star Wars miniatures game for EP. There's also a great site called Maps of Mastery by the guy who did a lot of maps for WotC. He did a number of generic scifi maps and tiles, meant for use with SWM, but usable for any scifi game. Most notably his cargo ship and cargo bays are excellent, and he's in the layout stages for a set of four maps that would combine to create a docking station and attached ships. http://mapsofmastery.com/images/galleryart/sci-fi/exodus.jpg http://mapsofmastery.com/images/galleryart/sci-fi/shippingcenter.jpg

Re: Miniatures For EP
I have been looking specifically for miniatures for the pass few days for the first EP module I am doing. I'm looking for miniatures for the Glory module... I was thinking that the Breeders could be something like this: http://www.infinitythegame.com/infinity/en/2011/miniatures/iskallers/ Though they do not seem Cthulhu enough.. :( I am really curious if and what you have bought for other EP modules. t

Just noticed that Antenocitis Workshop is haveing a half off sale on their figs, which seem very smooth and EP apropos, like Infinity are too. http://www.antenocitisworkshop.com/governance-of-technology/g-o-t-figure...

I saw some Sedition Wars miniatures at GenCon that would work pretty well. The strain especially seemed to work well for infected/mutated humans. http://seditionwars.com/index.php?option=com_factions&view=faction&Itemi...

Re: Miniatures For EP
It was mentioned above, but AT 43 has some very theme appropriate stuff (uplifted gorillas!) and some appropriate exsurgent/TITAN-esque figures and since Rackham started going into liquidation and their lines are all dead (at least for the foreseeable future) lots of retailers are starting to put them in the bargain basement. On a linked note for terrain - people should check out the sci-fi terrainlinx series being put out by World Works Games. Since they're modular it's easy to get the core components you need for a variety of hab layouts. Also, the more love we show the sci-fi line the more sets they'll put out.
Ex unus plures.

I can confirm that the Rackham line Than speaks of was pretty awesome. I have the ones he picked up in my house & am considering not giving them back. ;)
