Why thank you. That's what happens when I get the rare downtime at work. I need to represent us biological types after all. Turns out the TITANs had a sense of humor using old 20th century flat vids as inspiration. Well with a twist that is. Yes you can talk to a 'monster'. She's friendly enough when you've got a few million kilometers between you. I'm working on her background. Still haven't decided what point of view to use. Might as well have some fun here as no GM in their right mind would let me play my lovely Xeno femme very fatale in real life. "You want to play what?" I tend to get that a lot. }; )

It's mostly because once the evil alien gets involved, any discussion kind of halts. Setting aside the fact that "Oh bugger, there's this monster talking to us!" for a moment, it also makes it like discussing the particulars of anal sex in front of your grandmother: While some people might be okay with that, it tends to drive others into silence from the sheer fact that there are some things they don't want to say in front of someone.

You have interesting notions of privacy. I would think that you'd realize that anything put on the net, or the mesh as it where can be accessed by those you're talking about given enough effort. I turn your attention to Wikileaks. If you want to talk about anal sex I'd do in the flesh where some mass media isn't involved. Also call me crazy but I doubt philosophy and economics are such sensitive issues.

That was just a metaphor, and not a great one. If you want a better one, imagine you were in a chatroom, discussing philosophy, when Jeffrey Dahmer signs on (ignoring his notable handicap of being dead) and starts making subtly and overtly threatening statements towards you. Given the fact that the Exsurgent Virus can be spread via digital transmission, it may even be apt to suggest you were discussing this face to face with someone and Dahmer just strolls up. If your first reaction is "Oh, hey Dahmer, nice knife. So, anyway, as I was saying about the rights of man..." and not "I have to get out of here! This guy's a psycho!", something is clearly wrong with your survival instincts. An Exsurgent is in every way bad news. The only place you want to see them is beneath a Lunar mass driver shot. You don't want to converse with them. At most, you'd put a trace on them and submit the info to someone in power or, if you're brave or dumb enough, try to hack them, but, at the very least, you'd start ignoring their transmissions just in case something dangerous came over it. To put it simply, an Exsurgent is not someone I, or any sane person who didn't have to, would talk to, nor would my character. AtC survived the Fall, just barely, and he's still scared shitless of the TITANs. He's not about to discuss the finer points of philosophy with one of their pawns.

I'm not trying to be mean here, so sorry if it seems that way. I know I'm probably coming off as angry, but I can undertstand that causing silence wasn't your intention. However, in character, AtC would just start blocking transmissions from the sender and send out an alert to a possible presence. An Exsurgent is bad news. While, say, the utterly scientific Root may be glad to discuss things, and the prideful Jovian Picollo may want to argue with you, my character is a Fall survivor whose ass is on the line if people even THINK there's an infection there because of him. Basically, I doubt any conversations between him and your Exsurgent are likely to occur, at least in discussions he initiates.

Personally, I don't see an issue with biotech. Most of my characters trend that way. Personally, though, I find the idea of the maximum of my personal daily health worries being "Do I need to change my battery today?" a pleasurable concept. Top this off with things like not needing to sleep and it becomes even more enjoyable. If I could be active 24/7 without any biological necessities holding me back, the only thing I might consider missing is the simple pleasure of being tired and comfortable. Also, no unexpected brain tumors to worry about. That said, I'd be paranoid about getting hacked.
