Skyline (Spoilers)
So, I shelled out my money for the seasons most recent assault on the senses that passes for films these days, and watched Skyline. Now, this is not a recommendation to spend hard earned money on watching this film. It's not a bad movie. It's half of a bad movie. However, the reason I bring it up here is because it is, almost amazingly, one of the single best films for depicting something extremely similar to the Fall in Eclipse Phase. And this is where the SPOILERS begin, so be warned. In short, the film is a bunch of people trying to unsuccessfully survive some kind of attack by alien bio-machines. Now, there is NOTHING to say these are aliens from another planet. They are simply /alien/. They operate by creating a glowing blue light that causes anyone who sees it to change physically, removed impediments between them and the light, and get sucked up into it. What do the crazy starfish alien robots want? Our brains. Yes, you read that right. Our brains. And if they do not initially such you up into the light to get at your brains, you begin to change physically and mentally. I would even argue that the main character, who gets exposed in the first five minutes, and a total of eight or more times over the course of the film, is actually trying to get everyone kidnapped by the machines. How does this relate to the Fall? Giant bio-robots with massively advanced technology kidnapping people en masse to steal their brains. Blue light that reprograms your mind and body. And a perfect example of what the Exsurgent virus might do to someone. It's a terrible film... but I still think that any fan of Eclipse Phase will enjoy at least thinking about it in terms of the Fall.

First the aliens wanted our women, then our water and food, and now it's our brains!

Re: Skyline (Spoilers)
We have to wait mid-December to get it on the big screen, here. *grumbles* thank you for streaming. I'll see it again when the movie is released, but I SO want it, and I'm sick of seeing releases rescheduled. They did the same thing with Tron Legacy. Anyway, from the trailer, I'm making my mind to use the facial reaction to the light a way to visualize the process of a Basilisk Hack. Heck, I'm gonna describe it in my graphic novel *nudge toward Dweller and Root* Quality wise, I never judge in terms of good or bad. My philosophy is that people spent money to make it possible, they worked hard in their respective fields to bring it forth. And I would personally hate to hear my work sucks. It's okay to dislike it, it's not (not in my book, anyway) to disregard the efforts put in a flick (or book, or song, whatever) by saying it's bad, or even worse. And seeing the brothers behind Skyline worked their arses off on other projects to gather the funds to pay this project bills, seeing the results getting released world wide makes me damn proud of them. This one is to sci-fi what Paranormal Activity is to horror flicks, and I find it inspiring. EDIT: Okay,I just watched the movie and, honnestly I loved it! Okay, it's not the movie of the year, but frack! I just loved the tone of the story! And you're right about Jared and is "EXV" infection, though at some point of the movie, I began to think that what he's got could be akin to the Watts-McLeod Strain. Look at the color (you'll see what I mean when you'll watch the movie). I really wonder if those two brothers know Eclipse Phase. There is too many resemblances, except for the tech level of the humans, to be just coincidental
