@Gee4orce: really really pretty. already replaced the bookmark on my phone! @krank: too bad. was happily surprised, that I had missed that one. maybe one day... maybe it's just me, but I think the present version is highly usable. A fast search function would still high on my list though.

@krank: indeed, too bad. I've put a lot of work in automating as much as possible the text extraction, but still, it is a tedious and error prone process.

Thanks. I've continued to play with the layout today, and have used some @font-face rules to embed the exact same fonts used in the EP PDF. (erm - the license for these fonts probably doesn't allow for this, so strictly for personal use only ;-) ).

Bah. I was sure I had seen a hack pack of the core rulebook somwehere, but I must've hallucinated. Too bad.
It was discussed in this thread recently -- http://www.eclipsephase.com/creative-commons-source-material -- but there doesn't seem to be a lot of interest.

Re: Core Rulebook, lightweight version
I've changed that link to something simpler: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2190127/EP/ep.html I'm not sure where to take this now. I want to get the table formatting fixed, but only if I can mostly do it in CSS. Do you think it'll be possible for the generated HTML to include thead and th tags for what is currently in caption tags ? (ie. the name of the table) ? This will allow me to style the table headers appropriately. Also, would it be possible for all example text boxes to have a class of 'example' ? This will help differentiate them from other quotes and call-outs. I want to get the HTML looking good (and it's mostly the tables that are left to do), but want to minimise the divergence from the HTML than can be generated from the LaTEX code.

If you ask me, the html looks great already. will look into special tags in html soon. But first I will finally fix those all caps chapter titles.

Hey, Gee4orce! why didn't didn't you post about all the work on SUNWARD you did in the html version http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2190127/EP/ep.html ? I love it! Could you zip the files and post the link, so I could put them on my cell phone and have the books available, even if there is no mesh to be had?

Re: Core Rulebook, lightweight version
Well, I didn't really do any work - I just used the files that someone else had produced, and added a stylesheet link, and 'it just worked'. I still need to update the tables in the core rules - they aren't styled properly at the moment. Here's a zipfile with the core rules and sunward: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2190127/EP.zip So - anybody produced an ePub or HTML version of Gatecrashing yet ? :-)

Re: Core Rulebook, lightweight version
Thank you SO much. I'm thinking of converting Eclipse Phase for Savage Worlds system, and this work you did could save me from a lot of copy-paste work!!! Thanks again. PS: Is the corebook all "converted" in the zip file I downloaded, or is it still missing some detail? I have the hardcover printed version, but I have no time / no will to manually check all the pages... :/
