Hello!
For the past month, I've been working on the bible for an EP graphic novel.
So far I have a general synopsis of the whole plot, plus the first and last chapters, and the main characters.
But the trouble is the person I expected to do the drawing lost interest and we parted ways. But that left me artistless.
the story in a nutshell:
Alexander Shaw, a young man who signed a juicy record contract for him and his band at the eve of the Fall, has to survive an Earth quickly turning into Hell, escape servitude and killers sent to silence him, rescue his fiancee and reclaim his rightful place. But mostly he must find a simple answer: "Somewhere I belong."
Would anybody be interrested working with me on this?
Just remember it's a non-commercial, unpaid venture. I'd rather let you know upfront
if you are interested, feel free to post here or contact me directly (or both)

[hr] Sure. My writer hasn't gotten back to me, and I need a project to test my abilities on so I can build a portfolio. The job I'm looking to get with this portfolio is working on a human homunculus, so I'm working on the 3D equivalent of figure drawing. The question is whether I can work up graphics for your story in a way that does it justice. Really good 3D artists will look like something Pixar makes, but I'm not one of them. I'm hoping to make the rough scene in Blender, and posing the characters there as well, and then finishing up in Inkscape or Gimp. This will be my first project, and at the other end of the spectrum from Pixar-quality graphics are graphics that look like a five-year old's clay sculptures of people. If you send me directions for a cover, I will illustrate it and send it back to you. If you don't want to vomit on your screen when you see it, then we can go from there.@-rep +1

[hr] For setting material, keep in mind that anything set on Luna or Mars has visual references in Google Earth. I read something about being able to build a Blenderscape with photographs, and I'm excited to see if I can manage it with the Google data. As far as me being "skilled", I have to admit that this is not true yet. However, I am using this project as my training for using Gimp, Inkscape, and Blender; three programs I am learning to use that are quite central to the job I am trying to get. I've been pouring over the manuals for the three programs, and this weekend is me synthesizing all of that into skill. I am so goddamn excited I don't know how to communicate it other than as a high-pitched giggling. Wee!@-rep +1

[hr] Today is the day I have set aside to build whatever you want me to for background set. If you've done any theater work, think of it like building a stage set, lights and all. Please give me an assignment before the day disappears.@-rep +1
