The great cleaving
An early Planetary Consortium commercial. http://www.nextnature.net/2010/10/the-great-cleaving/ Any other good EP-style commercials around?

I dunno but that one was scary! A mix of Southern U.S televangelist and singularity seeker.

You think that's scary, here he is again in 'Episode One'. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jjc9-Oczk90&feature=related

One thing is for sure... he's not helping the Transhumanist movement...

Re: The great cleaving
I think he's meant to be fictional, I've never heard of Veri-Sync or Memenet89. However in that video, at the end when he said won't you come and join me, I couldn't help but think, "I'm in."

root@The great cleaving
Damn, root got scooped. Oh well, I'll just have to work harder to make his argument with Juan interesting now that the trope is out. [EDIT] Oh dear thousand-armed-monkey god is that brilliant. For anyone who wonders if this is a fake or not, I reference you to Glenn Beck and Illuminati-fearing Rev Billy Graham, which this parodies. It does a brilliant job, and tries to make it super clear with the "episode 1" that got added, where the Dr. Alex Xross goes all kinds of batshit.

funny thing is, I'm writing my first article for the fanzine about a man just like him: Evan Bruce Blackmoor, founder of the Ebb Habitats, on Mars Also... doesn't he remind you a bit of John deLancie, back when he was playing Q in Star Trek TNG?

Re: The great cleaving
root@The great cleaving
Here is a link to an interview article where the subject uses the term "hivemind" in a positive way. "One of us! One of us! One of us!"

Re: The great cleaving
root@The great cleaving
Maybe that's because no one loves the hivemind! Or I forgot to add the link. Fixed it.

Ah, now this is going to be an interesting project. Does the City dream?

Wow that first video is creepy! Reminded me of a H.P. Lovecraft inspired ad for the Necronomicon. For EP-related commercials, I'm a fan of this little video on adverts in augmented reality. Not an ad from the future like The Great Cleaving; more the future of advertising. Probably/hopefully this has been crossposted in some thread about augmented reality.

Alas, I think this will become the true future of AR...
