TITANS always appears in capitals, indicating it's an abbreviation...
...So what does does TITAN stand for ??

Total Information Tactical Awareness Network. It's a Military Project so of course they'd take some cool sounding name and pick some words that would allow them to call these Seed AI's Titans.
